cliff,
to be clear, fldigi cq call keys the transmitter. The problem is that it is a constant tone during transmission. There is no diddledhen the transmitter is keyed.

Your audio does mot?appear tp?be?getting to the IC-7100

1) make sure you have the correct sound card configured for output (speaker):? you need the IC-7100 usb so9und device

2) us this configuration?for IC-7100

-?

- you need to be on USB-D for the mode AND have the connectors configured to use USB for the sound?

When I followed the IC-7100 instructions o the web site everything worked/

RRI Bulletin & Winlink Request

Hello Everyone:

Please see the following request from the Winlink programs group and the Radio Relay International bulletin issued earlier today:

-------- Forwarded Message --------
Subject:Re: [winlink-programs-group] Please postpone regular Winlink Nets and testing during hurricane response

Thank you Scott! And, yes, we need to keep a clear Part 97.221(b) for any individual or agency needing to use Winlink for EmComm on our US Ham bands.?

Specifically:?
28.120-28.189 MHz,?
24.925-24.930 MHz,?
21.090-21.100 MHz,?
18.105-18.110 MHz,?
14.0950-14.0995 MHz, 14.1005-14.112 MHz,?
10.140-10.150 MHz,?
7.100-7.105 MHz,?
3.585-3.600 MHz?

Considering that our occupied bandwidth for protocols used is between 2.3KHz and 2.75 KHz, and that we share these segments with others, we don¡¯t have much wriggle room!

Lastly, a US end-user may also use RMS gateways from other countries that will appear outside these segments since they are present as a control operator (not under automatic control). This would include the RMS gateways in Canada, Mexico, ITU sponsored gateways in Central America and the Caribbean.

FYI,

Re: Which versions are best for my older system.

I believe the setup file checks to see wheth3er you have 64 or 32-bit Windows. I have 64-bit Windows 10 and the install folder is in "Program Files" rather than "Program Files (X386).
?
However Flamp and Flmsg are in the latter folder.

Re: Which versions are best for my older system.

Thanks for the info on 4.2.05.
That IS newer than mine.

Re: Which versions are best for my older system.

Hello 'DDT' / 'remington308',

I've been using FLdigi extensively on my Win7 32 bit laptop, and it works just fine and stable.

Since you have FLdigi already installed, I recommend you use the FLdigi 'Help - Check for updates' function, or, if you prefer, 'Help - FLdigi website', which will take you to 'http://www.w1hkj.com/Fldigi.html'. From there, you'll find links to the respective download sites. Be sure to use the old-school 'http:', not 'https:', which we've learned leads astray!

The latest published 'stable' release which I've been using much of the year (since it was published in April) is fldigi ver4.2.05.

If you try downloading the setup file 'fldigi-4.2.05_setup.exe' manually for sourceforge, instead of using the prominent green 'Download' button (which usually points to the latest uploaded component but not FLdigi itself), be sure to go to the 'files' section and select the latest stable release directly.

The same applies if you need any component, e.g. FLamp, FLmsg etc.

I don't think there are any separate 64 bit versions, the common Windows setup file mentioned above has always worked for me (32 bit Win7 OS).

Good luck!

Re: Hand keying into fldigi

I think his point is to be able to hand key WITHIN the weak signal capability of fldigi. That, coupled within the simplicity and weak signal of CW itself should be a boon to DX.

Re: Hand keying into fldigi

I'm curious.. Have you simply connected your key to your radio?? I'm running a KW TS-590sg with both a straight key and a set of paddles connected directly to it. I also run fldigi to send repetitive content or during contests but just go directly to the key/paddles which bypasses all the fldigi stuff.

adding a contest

is this easy to do, I worked the URC=dx rty contest, but it is not in fldigi.? I had to use n1mm, and was wondering why exchanges were incorrect, and had to fix several

Re: Hand keying into fldigi

What method are you using to key the radio? Are you using the DTR/CTS method with your USB/RS232 adapter? If so, you need to connect your straight key to the correct pin on the RS232 connector so that it applies the correct signal (ground or high) to the input on your radio and set that method up in Fldigi.

Re: FLDIGI/FLRIG use as a stand-alone contest log for CQWW-RTTY --- where are the fields?

Ah, I see! I went back to double check this, and here is what I am seeing. I'm using Fldigi 4.2.05.24 and I have the 'CQ WW DX RTTY' contest selected.?
?
When I click on the callsign in the RX window (K4RVA), it is automatically filling the CQz field with a '5', which would normally be correct for a K4 callsign, however I live in Colorado, which is in CQ zone 4.
?
If I click on '04' in the RX window, it does not transfer to the CQz field, I assume because there is already something there. But if I remove the '5' from the CQz field, and then click '04' in the RX window, it does populate the CQz field with '04'.
?
Clicking on 'CO' transfers it to the CQs field, as expected.?
?
?
I looked around, but did not find anywhere to disable or override the automatic population of the CQz field. I do not have data base lookup enabled in Config > Call > Lookup.?

Hand keying into fldigi

I have been using fldigi for CW - that works fine for decoding and sending from the keyboard.? But I would like to introduce hand keying through my USB/RS232 adapter but am unable to get it to work.? In fact I have been unable to get fldigi to see my hand key at all.? So what am I doing wrong?? Any advice would be appreciated.? I have got a feeling that it is most likely the case I have not been able to see the wood for the trees.? (User error).

Hi Bill, I just tried this with Fldigi 4.2.05.24 and I got the same results that you did. I don't know if the contest exchange was changed after this contest was added to Fldigi?

Usually I will use 'Generic Contest' in Fldigi for everything, which will capture anything I click on to the "Xch" field, and then I edit the Cabrilo file manually to match what is required for a particular contest.?
