Many years ago there was an option to set the Macro Buttons style that made them look like glass (see through) instead of a solid color. I cannot find an option to do that in version 4.1.09 on my Windows 8.1 computer. Is that optional button style style still available? Thanks, George, NJ3H Redmond, Oregon

Greetings, I like to decode the Europe feed of news items as described at RTTY.com. Please see the attached picture. The gentleman that is one of the go-to people on this replied to by question as to why apostrophe's are printed as <BEL>. This only happens on the Europe feed and not on the ITTY feed (US news items). Here is his response: ============================================== I suspect there is more than just this problem. I think + will print as “ and = will print as ; There may be a few others. This is because there are multiple standards for Baudot. The US uses USTTY and Europe uses ITA2. Everything on the Europe feed prints well on a European teletype machine because those printers are mechanically set up for ITA2. When I first put the Europe feed up, users in Europe complained that things were not printing correctly. One complaint was that apostrophe was triggering the bell on their machines! This is what you are seeing in FLDigi. I originally had the Europe channel on USTTY and had to change it to ITA2 Interestingly, the apostrophe and bell are actually switched between the two code standards, so if I send a BEL, European machines will ring the bell but FLDigi will print an apostrophe! If I send an apostrophe, European machines will print an apostrophe but US machines will ring the bell. ============================================== So my question is: Is there an equivalent character set to ITA2 in FLDigi. If TXID (and RXID, I suppose, though it shouldn't have an effect) is turned off, and I toggle T/R, I see fldigi TX something at the beginning and the end. I don't have anything in the TX pane to send. It seems to send something, then a bunch of nothing (expected, because there is naught to send), then when I toggle T/R off, fldigi sends another brief "something". 73 Rich NE1EE The Dusty Key On the banks of the Piscataqua

It would be nice if there was an option to hide the TX portion of the screen to allow more room for RX traffic. I am not doing any transmitting and I am sure other hams and SWL folks just might desire more receive room on the screen. I already have set Rig/Log Controls to None. I am using a digirig 1.9. Windows 10 fldigi 4.2.06 If I select Tune, when I toggle it off, PTT drops within 1 s. If I toggle T/R with no data to send (just for testing), the delay is there after I toggled T/R > R. The delay is 5-6 s by stopwatch. It was repeatable for many tests. I have all the fldigi delays = 0 where I know to look. I seem to recall that in the past there was no delay...I can check earlier versions. I havna checked this with a mobile. I didn't think to check other HTs, because I figured they are all the same, AND Tune drops PTT immediately. I have a super basic question. What is the section of the UI called that contains the frequency window, the logging area, etc., and specifically, the mode and bandwidth section called? It's the area between the header and the macro section. I'm looking for a description of all of the functions in that area. Without knowing the correct nomenclature, I can't search. Is there an image that has ball-notes for each item/button? Thanks

Dumb question but on one of my computers I can't seem to expand upward the waterfall. What setting in FLDIGI config file do move the waterfall up and down. Thanks Dave -- 73's de NU4N

Greetings, I have an issue with the Perseus with FLDigi an BlackCat WEFAX (the only two decoders that I have. Note the vertical interference marks showing on both decoders. However on the Perseus, there is not such interference shown in the spectrum nor the waterfall view. Both picture attached to show the Perseus is not showing the interference When I use my RSPdx and HF+ Discovery, this situation does NOT occur. I am using the same antenna for all three radios. I have tried the Perseus/decoders set with a VAC and also the signal to the PC speakers. Does anyone have any possible ideas what might be causing the vertical interference lines? By the way, I have tried powering the Perseus with a PSU from Jameco and with a USB cable. One more thing: I can not get the brightness and the other slide switches to work on the right-hand side next to the spectrum/waterfall screen. I have never notices an issue before. Regards, George

I'm in the process of learning CW, using the MorseMania app and I'm doing really well on instant character recognition, but I have 0 sending skills at the moment. I'd like to use FLRIG or FLDIGI to send CW but I'm having problems... when I use the CW Keyer in FLRIG, it doesn't trigger the IC-7300 to transmit? If I use the same application to do FSK Keyer - it works fine... And so does the "PTT" and "TUNE" button on the main FLRIG window... Anyone have experiences with FLRIG and the IC-7300 CAT PTT? I am having problems doing CW Keying from the FLRIG program. When I go to Keyer | CW Keyer and type a message and press Send/Pause, the transmitter doesn't transmit but the software acts as if though it is (marquees the message that I typed). If I do the same but use the FSK Keyer - it DOES trigger the rig to transmit.. I have the following settings for Xcvr and PTT-Generic: Can someone help me figure this out? I am hope that fixing this - will carry over to CW working in FLDIGI as well.. Oh - while I'm at it - can you tell me - when you use FLDIGI to transmit/decode CW with the IC-7300, is your radio set to CW or LSB-D/USB-D ? Thank you!

Greetings, I am using the latest version of FLDigi on my Win 10 desktop. I was trying to select one of my Virtual Audio Cables and I get the message shown on the attached picture. I have Restarted the computer and the message persists. How can I clear this error and select the input that I want? I have attached the screen capture and the VAC Control Panel. I cannot find any recent information on this and I am stumped. I have a Ten Tec Jupiter (TT-538) and am running fldigi 4.1.14 and flrig 1.3.51 on Windows 10. I have been running fldigi with no problem for 4 years, but I have never gotten flrig to work. Cat control works with other programs. The current problem I have is that flrig tells me: "Transceiver not responding" and to reset the com port. The com port is correct and available. There aren't many other options. It's a Prolific USB-Serial cable, not FTDI. Any ideas? -- 73, Lem W1LEM
