Tait Equipment UPDATE: Good News-Bad News 3
The Good News: I've got approval for disposal of the equipment as I see fit. The Bad News: Due to various scheduling issues and bureaucratic processes, I will be unable to proceed any farther until August. I won't have any inventory or other information until then. Hang in there, we'll get to it. It's just going to take a while. 73, Michael WA7SKG

Repeater hang time/tail circuit 9
Hi everyone. I built myself a repeater with a pair of Kenwood radios, ESP32 based and fully functional (automated beacon, auto/manual mode, screen ...). Although repeater tail is implemented by software (which for me was the fastest and easiest) I would like to experiment in implementing it by hardware. I saw in the past that using a 555 working as monostable would be a neat, easy solution with adjustable components. I looked through the net but couldn't find any circuit used specfically in ham radio repeaters. Would anyone share a circuit like that explaining its connections and so? Thank you in advance for your time! Javier, EA6ALW

Sinclair Q2220E Rod replacement 23
I have 2 duplexers that the rods have been cut and I'm unable to tune them down to the ham bands and I'd like to replace the rods. I've contacted the manufacturer and the cost of the original rods is very high. Has anyone been able to do the rods themselves with standard stainless or invar rods? Thanks in advance! Peter VE9PTR

2000' spool of FSJ4-75
I have located a "new" spool of FSJ4-75, 2000', in SoCal. I have not personally inspected it, however, the pics I've seen show it still with the corrugated cover on the spool. It is stored upright and it not on a pallet. 44x23x44 and #130. The seller has it for $1,500 PICKED UP. They won't roll it out, so common carrier isn't an option. If anyone has a serious interest in this, contact me off list. Matt AL0R at flyfast.net

Cdm/gm300 repeater cables 2
Hey everybody.. ran into something interesting and was wondering if anybody had any insight on this. So when you look at the picture that I've attached here you can see those cheap little $12 repeater cables you get off of eBay.. I've used them on GM 300S for years and they work perfectly fine. Yesterday I programmed up some CDM 1250 radios and they don't work with these cables. Now what's interesting is I can take my idiomatic controller that works on my gm300s perfectly fine and I used it on the cdms and it also worked perfectly fine. So for whatever reason these little cables will work for the GM 300's but not the CDM radios. Anybody have any thoughts or a workaround on this? Kendecom... 17
Our Club has a Kendecom 223 repeater we'd like evaluated and repaired as necessary. Who's the go-to guy anymore? Also, it has always been my understanding that these were quality repeaters. Maybe this is just for the Mark IV receivers? I've read both good and bad about Kendecom. Would we be throwing good $$ after bad? Kevin, are you still building 223 repeaters on the Micor chassis? Wacom WP-639 Duplexer question 33
Good evening, our club has a Wacom WP-639 four can duplexer as part of our repeater system. Input Fq is 147.915 and Output Fq is 147.315. We have a 600kHz (+) offset. Very simply, our main problem is when we run the transmitter at full power 100 watts, there is a HUGE desense on the receive side of things. When we drop the transmitter power level to around 20-50 watts, the receive side opens WAY up to a large area where people can get into the repeater. As we begin to bring up the transmitter power, "white noise" begins to appear and the receive side starts to desense again. All the cables have been switched to double sheilded cables and all the same wavelength in length. We have the duplexer seperated & sheilded from the transmitter & preamp parts. We have not replaced the antenna feed coax with double sheilded coax yet. Antenna is a Hustler G7 atop a 55' mast. The duplexer was retuned just over 1 year ago. Any suggestions as to what we could look into next? Some of us believe the problem is with the tuning of the duplexer receive cans. Thank you very much.

DMR linking software 7
Hello Everyone, I'm looking to see if there is software similar to the C-bridge softwares that will allow other DMR repeaters that are not Motorola brand to talk to each other in a network other than using Brandmeister. Looking to run my own DMR server. It's my understanding C-bridge only talk to Motorola equipment I've come to realize all of the radio manufacturers in the commercial space don't want there systems to be able to talk to there competitors equipment via a common protocol. Thank you Steven H N8RLW

Motorolas for sale
Good morning: I have for sale these Motorola CP185 16 channel UHF portables, they are in good condition and work 100%. Battery seems to last the specified 11 hours on stand-by. One of the radios will come with brand new rapid 1-3 hour desktop charger in original box, one battery, mint shape speaker mic and antenna, and of course the radio. The other will have the battery, and antenna and radio. The radio will easily program for GMRS or Amateur radio use, although it is programmed for GMRS frequencies currently. I have 2 of these and I would like to sell as a pair for $235.00 shipped, but will sell the one with the speaker mic and brand-new charger for $145.00 shipped, and the other one without speaker mic and the new charger for $100.00 shipped. The one that doesn’t have the new charger, again comes with the original charger and all equipment works 100%. The Motorola CP185 radio is a 16 channel handheld unit that is ideal for educational institutions, retail, and hospitality businesses. The CP185 transmits using analog UHF or VHF frequencies, and can be programmed to work with other Motorola, Icom, and Kenwood analog radios. The Motorola CP185 includes a monochrome display, so your channels can be named to help cut down on employee confusion. There are 5 dealer programmable buttons that can be set to features such as: backlight ON/OFF toggle, keypad lock, power level, monitor, volume set, and more. Motorola CP185 radio highlights · Analog only transmissions · 16 channels · Monochrome display · UHF (435-480 MHz) or VHF (136-174 MHz*) frequency bands · 4 Watts (UHF) or 5 Watts (VHF) max power output · 11 hours battery life and up to 16 with hi-cap battery · 5 programmable buttons · 2 year Motorola warranty Please email me at wi9hf@... if interested. 73’s Chad

GM900 TX tuning, lacking GTF180 3
Hi all, I'm currently working on a pair of Motorola GM900 to replace the TX/RX in one of our UHF repeaters. I could program them with a RIB on the right frequency and they both work, the repeater is working OK. Now I want to align them as precisely as possible with the "tuning procedure" as found in the service manual. Unfortunately, this procedure needs a GTF180 test box which I don't have. Nowhere is the GTF180 described and where the different signals have to be fed into the radio. The transmit deviation balance says a 80 Hz and a 1000Hz is to be injected into the test box. Does someone know WHERE these signals are to be fed or has a GTF180 diagram and manual ? Thanks for any help, 73 Patrick

K2 brand LiFePo batteries aka "Grand Teton Energy" ? - * * * UPDATE * * * 7
Okay, here is an update. I had to go over to Idaho yesterday on other business. I was about 50 miles from Rexburg, Idaho. I drove the extra distance. Grand Teton Energy was very easy to see from the main road going into town. Sort of small industrial complex, no surprise. Their section of the building looks like a standard warehouse. Two large doors with shipping docks for semis. And one "man door". I opened the door and walked in. As I was going in, two employees were leaving for the day. There was one man working at a desk. I talked with him some. I told him that I knew of someone who was having a problem with one of their batteries. That you had called for customer service for it. He said he didn't know what the problem was with the telephone. The lady who takes care of sales and customer service works from home. I just tried to telephone and no answer. I'm going to say that since she is working from home, to just keep trying or try email for them to call. Sorry Ran, that I didn't take your phone number with me. I had missed that in your email. Their business space was quite large. They have pallets and pallets of batteries. There are a lot of work stations. These include areas for battery testing, system repairs, and design. There was a section set up for an employee break area for at least 8 people. Bottom line: they are very much in business. Mick - W7CAT

DB224-E Purchase Sources 13
Good Morning! Our club received a grant for a new tower and other stuff. We look to purchase a DB224-E antenna for our project, but doggone the prices are unbelievable! I purchased a DB224-A 6 years ago for $573.20, and the shipping for the antenna, a spool of 7/8 feed line, and some other accessories totaled $222.02. The current price that I find for a DB224 is anywhere from $1,280 to $1,450 and shipping for the antenna alone anywhere from $193 to $380 depending on the vendor. Does anyone have any sources for "new old stock" antennas at the "old" prices or a "connection" to a vendor that will sell to a club for a better price? We aren't in any hurry; we just want the best price. It does need to be a brand new item for documentation within the grant program. Thanks & ya'll have a blessed day!
