Tait Equipment
If these are TB8100s, our 501(c)(3) has been collecting them and accessories and making available to hams. If these are older, not sure who is interested. On Fri, Feb 28, 2025 at 8:40?AM Michael WA7SKG via <wa7skg=[email protected]> wrote:

I worked on a few Tait 800's and got the cable and software from BlueMax49ers.? Fortunately, I did not have to do any re-tuning because I believe that you need extender cards to get to the tuning adjustments.? Is this true? Joe, K1ike On 2/28/2025 1:55 PM, Jeremy Hansen via groups.io wrote:

Joe,? You can pull the adjacent card to the right and get a tuning too in there. Not optimal but it works enough to get your VCO locked. Most other adjustments are either softpot or jumpers. I've never seen a card extender - each module plugs in? with a DB15 connector and you could easily make/procure a simple cable to connect a module out of the rack.? I have a T800 II here at the house on 2 meters, one deployed on 220, and two on the shelf that are UHF T-band that I was able to drag low enough to work on GMRS. Not type accepted so I won't place them in the field, but keep them on the shelf for SHTF emergencies.? Great repeaters with top notch quality construction. Requires an external controller if you want ID or ancillary functions.? Jeremy K1LFK? On Fri, Feb 28, 2025, 5:31?PM Joe via <k1ike_mail=[email protected]> wrote: Jeremy, |

Wow, the response has been overwhelming both on and off the list. I had no idea of the interest as I rarely see anything mentioned about Tait.
?
I talked to my boss, who needs to talk to his boss next week concerning disposition. The equipment is stored a couple different locations. It will take me a few days to go through it and work up an inventory. It may also take some time to get it "sanitized", removing our frequencies, etc. And, of course, the final approval from the powers that be concerning disposal.
?
All equipment is located in Dallas, Oregon. Shipping may be complicated and pricey on this kind of stuff, so local pickup may be a consideration. At this time, I have no idea on model numbers or much of anything else, other than a good sized pile of equipment, mostly Tait.
?
More details to follow as they become available.

开云体育I’m looking for TB7100’s especially (I doubt you have any) 220MHz. But, yes TB7100’s are great radios for VHF/UHF. I have an immediate need for a VHF and UHF to support ?the Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Race in April. I use VTAC repeaters and a UTAC-41 repeater to link the other sites together.John N. Tait is good stuff. Worked on T200, T300 and T800 (T800 was my favorite) series for ham repeaters in ZL.

As a follow-up, what is the availability of programming software for this stuff? Is it unobtainium like Motorola, or something readily available?
?
Forgive my ignorance, I am new in this position and, honestly, totally unfamiliar with Tait equipment. It was all installed at our repeater sites by the contractor. When removed, it is just in some piles at a couple storage locations and the boss said he did not know what to do with it. I will be required to reprogram anything with frequencies to channels other than what we were using them on.

Thanks,

Any Motorola CPS can be had for free..all you need to do is get a online account at Motorolasolutions.com.. I think I have Tait software but there are places to get it off the net...you have to search for it or ask on a couple of mail lists like radio programming at Chris WB5ITT? Not any more... And last I checked, Radius GM300 RSS ain't on there.
?
YOU might have access to a lot of stuff because of who you work for, but that doesn't mean that the lay person who creates an account will. And they'll have to pay for a subscription to what they want.
?
I digress

Love ya Chris.

Oh yeah...of course to do GMs and Radius takes the RIB box unless Bluemax49er on eBay has a USB cable to do it... If anyone needs the older CPS, drop me a direct email ..if I don't have it, I can get it Chris WB5ITT? On Mon, Mar 3, 2025, 11:19 AM Chris Baldwin via <vtat1271=[email protected]> wrote:
