Re: Copying an .SCH file to a new .PRO
I usually have many projects which could be seen as belonging to one category, as of meters. To start a new project in a category (in the category folder), I simply copy/past the project folder which

Kicad 6
I am still using Kicad 3, I build many small pcb¡¯s that are small (less than 1 square inch) that have no components just two holes. I panelize them the hard way, by placing each on the grid, since I

Re: Copying an .SCH file to a new .PRO
Thanks, Steve. I think I did what you advise, but it didn't work, so I probably didn't. I am using version 6.0.11, with the .kicad_xxx extensions, but I forgot to put them in my original post.

Re: Copying an .SCH file to a new .PRO
I would create the Figure3 project using KiCad, which will create a Figure3.sch file. Then, close KiCad, copy your edited file in place of the one KiCad created, and start KiCad again. Be sure to

Thank you very much. Cloning is a simple solution that copy-paste. ====================================================================================== Best wishes John Woodgate OOO-Own Opinions

Re: Copying an .SCH file to a new .PRO
Open Figure2.pro and save as Figure3.pro. This clones the entire project under a new name. You can also open a blank schematic and copy and past the old one in.

Re: Copying an .SCH file to a new .PRO
I found out how to do it. Open the Figure2.sch file and use CTRL-A to Select all, then Copy. Open the blank .sch file in Figure3.pro and Paste.

Copying an .SCH file to a new .PRO
I have to make two schematics that are the same except for component values. I have made one, in Figure2.pro, called Figure2.sch. I want to copy it to a new Figure3.pro. I tried making a copy of

Well, found some comments about schematic not loading and as a result tried setting display to fallback. Worked fine. GeorgeC

schematic program crashes every time on new win 10 install of 7.02. PCB is ok.
As in topic, I did a fresh install of 7.02 on a win10 fresh install. I can import my old board designs fine. Schematic crashes every time. CPU load goes way high, need to kill with task manager, red

Have you tried the Windows magnifier? Windows key with + on the numerical keypad. Cancel with Windows key with Escape.

Updating KiCad 7.0.0 to KiCad 7.0.2
I've used KiCad before, but it was a few years ago and I never got that familiar with it.? I have a new project, so I'm looking for a fresh start. I thought I should update to the latest revision,

Re: Capture a Spice schematic?
Caveat emptor. Just saying... This is a workflow I've used for some years now, and I never use schematic converters. -- Regards, Tony

Re: Capture a Spice schematic?
Thanks for the advice, Tony. If I try it and get a problem, I can just abandon and copy from a print of the .ASC manually into KiCad.

Re: Capture a Spice schematic?
Just bear in mind that the development branch is sometimes unstable and often has bugs. The other issue that's bitten me, is that it is not usually back-compatible with the stable branch, i.e. if you
