Re: Capture a Spice schematic?

KiCad is currently on an annual release schedule; 8.0 should be out in January 2024.

Thanks, Jon. If it is at 7.99, can 8.0 be far away? Should I wait?

LTSpice schematic import support has been added in the nightly builds (7.99) and will be released in KiCad 8.0.

Unfortunately, there is no way I know of to import an LTSpice schematic in 7.0 or older versions of KiCad

Thanks, Tony, but I think you misunderstood. I want to convert an LTspice schematic (in .ASC or any other format) to a KiCad schematic. I could print it and re-create it in KiCad, but I was hoping to find a conversion.

Symbols and PCBs can be captured from bitmaps, so it looks as though schematics, which are much simpler, could be captured, but there is no direct way to do that in KiCad 6. I wonder if there is an indirect way, or some sort of work-around.
I think you're out of luck, John. There are scripts to create symbols, but I suspect they are not useful for the kind of (analogue) stuff you want to use.

Perhaps if you post a list of what you're looking looking for, you find they exist already. Whether they are to your taste, is another matter. But honestly, if you've created symbols in LTspice, it's? hardly more onerous to do it in KiCAD, and they'll be prettier.
