I have a 2012 iMac with Java 8 and DecoderPro running version 4.26.
?
I have a Digitrax PR4 attached to a programming track and I have a Sprog 2 attached to a second programming track.
?
I would like to try to sort the Digitrax DN163K1B decoder first. ?I converted the loco back to DC and it runs fine in forward and reverse. ?
?
When I install the DCC card, DN163K1B, the locomotive will only run forwards.? |

There is a? bug, well not a bug, there was no code at all to deal with Double X Over. I have a fix for it. Should be done by EOD.

Allow me some time to reproduce the problem.
?
I guess there is a bug, any chance to get an output log?
?
Even if the system hangs, once crashed, after reboot, do not start JMRI and look for files named session.log and messages.log in your ~/.jmri/log folder (being on a rpi, I assume a linux path). If you can back both, it would help.
?
Thank you;

Ken, If you could upload your current layout config xml data file to the group's ProblemsBeingWorkedOn file folder I can provide better recommendations for the next steps. I did everything Billybob suggested in aspect mode. I changed the SE74 op5 to C. My signal heads and signal masts are able to change the signals on the layout. What is the next step towards making the signals react to the train movement?? The locomotive travels the layout fine but the signals don't change.? Thanks again Ken F? Ecuador |

Re: Dispatcher and setting turnouts
Jos, The current configuration has four blocks that include track segments assigned to the four crossover connections. ?That means there are four segments that share a single turnout address "pin30/31 #1-Crossing".? For example, a train is running from E-Outer to S-Inner with the crossover thrown. ?Another train needs to allocate E-Inner heading towards S-Inner. ?The allocation occurs since there are no apparent conflicts and the crossover is closed. The solution is to have separate blocks and sections for each straight route, such as X-Inner and X-Outer. ?This way the first train is using E-Outer, X-Outer, X-Inner and S-Inner. ?The second train can allocate E-Inner but has to wait to allocate X-Inner and close the turnout. Dave Sand ----- Original message ----- From: Jos Smeele <jossmeele@...> Subject: [jmriusers] Dispatcher and setting turnouts Date: Tuesday, September 17, 2024 4:10 PM I am using Dispatcher to run two trains simultaneously which in general works quite well. My layout has one double crossover that sometimes causes problems like when?one train is on the crossing and the other train changes the crossing to a different position causing a derailment of the first train. How can this be prevented? ? |

JMRI and Aegis
Hi all,
?
Been struggling with getting the DCC Concepts Aegis to receive throttle commands via Decoder pro throttles.
?
Currently tried having the NCE USB interface in EXT1 as I run a two cab setup (one wired master, one wireless via the "puck") and whilst it would show as online, no commands were being received.
?
I'm assuming it's going to be something simple (e.g run the main cab out to a PCP/UTP/WFD31 then to the master and USB) but any guidance would be appreciated.
?
On the computer front, I have tried with both my Windows 10 and Windows 11 machines to nil change and copied the settings for the USB interface over from the test track it was previously attached to under Powercab.

Is there a Log of Terminated Trains in Operations Pro
#operationspro
I have not been logging my operations sessions and now in hindsight, I want to track the trains run at each session.
?
Is there a JMRI log that records all the terminated trains in Operations Pro that I could parse the historical data?
?
Thanks in advance

Lou,
A lot depends on which form of Antivirus you have on the computer. Each will present a similar but different message. All of them boil down to it saying: We haven't seen this file very often. We don't detect any known virus in it but not sure if you should trust it or not. Now some systems put a clickable point on that window that leads you to being able to say "I know where it is from, I trust it" like Windows Defender. But others 'quarantine' it and you have to go into that folder to get it back. Mentioning which system you use for AV might help us get you to the right place. -Ken Cameron, Member JMRI Dev Team www.jmri.org www.fingerlakeslivesteamers.org www.cnymod.com |
Lou, Are you using a 3rd party anti-virus package? ?If so, which one? The help page that was updated today describes the steps required for Microsoft Defender. If you could provide a screenshot of the message that you see, someone might be able to help. Re: Build Fail, claims no route for cars
#operationspro
This has happened to me a few times, as recently as a couple of days ago.? In my case inevitably it is because I have made some change to the properties of the classification track and it no longer accepts this type of car for various reasons.? Fixing the classification track properties resolves the issue.??

This makes things clearer.? You have a couple of conflicting statements.? First you say "the cars have no destination beyond the yard when they arrive".? Then you say "the train picks up a car at C, that is destined for A".? If this car that is picked up at C is destined for A, then it needs to have a final destination of A.? This can be done in a couple of ways, depending on your needs.? You can create a schedule for the C location telling it that specific types of cars at this location will have a final destination of A.? If you are using custom loads (which I highly recommend), then JMRI will route the car from C to A via the yard.? As well, if you want this specific car to always go to destination A with a specific load, you can set this up just for the car.? What you are wanting to do is very doable in JMRI.??
?
I highly recommend accessing Pete Johnson's instructions on JMRI in the Wiki section of this group, specifically .? Of course there are also the excellent help files for JMRI.? You will need to do a bit of reading to get familiar with custom loads and schedules, but it is well worth it.??
?
I am sure that Pete will chime in as well and give a more detailed explanation than I have, so stay tuned :)??

Scott, You only need to assign a new block to the lower half. ?This happens to be the A and B connections. You will need to remove and add SM6-77-78 since it now has a different block boundary. ? Once that is done, you can generate the SML. SM6-72-78 does not need to be a double head mast. ?The upper head will never be used unless you put a mast at the stub track end bumper. Personally, I would create a block boundary at the throat of turnout 6:01 and add a double head mast. ?All of the departure signals would use the new mast as their destination. In SML, a route is normal if ALL turnouts are closed. ?It is diverging if ANY turnout is thrown. ?This affects route based signal systems such as "basic". Dave Sand ----- Original message ----- From: Scott Nelson <wa6blf@...> Subject: Re: [jmriusers] Need help with SML discovery on a crossover #sml Date: Monday, September 23, 2024 8:13 AM Thanks, Dave. ?I have updated the crossover to have a different block on each of the different legs but I still could not get the logic to build for that signal mast. ?In fact, now another signal mast, SM6-72-78, is also missing any logic. ? When I attempt to set signal masts, it is giving me options that do not make sense for this type of crossover. ? Sorry, I'm getting confused. ?Should I stop using a crossover and simulate one with two normal turnouts? BTW, that one dead end leg we will not be automating so perhaps I should just change this into a simple right-hand turnout. |
