Re: JMRI - NCE Block Detection

Sorry but that person had been asking the same question for three days and I
didn't appreciate his condescending attitude. I answered the question every time and each time his answers got snarkier and snarkier. So maybe you should be chastising him. you would know the answer. Flashes momentarily, just like the JMRI sensors that flash momentarily. As the trains cross the block gaps. Martin Ozolins <mailto:mdozolins@...> mdozolins@... I measured AC voltage at the output of the DC20, 9V unoccupied, drops to 9 Volt triggerd, then Immediately returns to 9V. DC is about 4V nominal, drops to .3 volts, then back to 4v immediately. Confirmed from two differend BD20s. Martin Ozolins <mailto:mdozolins@...> mdozolins@... (760)405 4812 "Fortune favors the prepared mind" - Louis Pasteur From: jmriusers@... Another test idea is to not use the BD20's but just a jumper wire from the common on the AIU to the different pins and see if those show as a steady sensor input. Compareing debounced data to raw might provide.an answer --- Original Message ---

The SB5 uses the V1.65 software used in a V1.65 Power Cab. The SB3(a) uses the V1.28 software used in a V1.28 Power Cab (both can be upgraded to V1.65).

For a number of reasons, the Mini Panel is not the best device for monitoring block sections. Please respond to the original question; With JMRI not running, do the indicator lights on the AIU come on and stay on when the train enters a block section, or do they just flash as you enter and leave? If you answer this question, you will avoid wasting a lot of time trying to help you. -- Dave in Australia On 09/06/2014, at 8:42 AM, "Martin Ozolins mdozolins@... [jmriusers]"<jmriusers@...> wrote:

Re: Engine Driver timeout problem
David,
Glad the clock is working out for you. I'll post here when the production version is released on the Play Store, you'll want to load it at that time. DecoderPro and PanelPro use different preferences, so you should also compare the eStop timeout in each (Preferences, WiThrottle, Seconds until eStop). That value is what EngineDriver uses as its "heartbeat" with the server. |

Martin,
The reason the Linux directory for user stuff is a 'dot' directory is that is standard for Linux on where you place the 'application settings'. I would suggest setting up a test track with just two blocks and the BD20's going to the AIU. See if the right LEDs come on and stay on. No JMRI connected. This will help you fiddle with the sensitivity. Which version of the PowerCab software do you have?? Is it the 1.65 or 1.28?? -Ken Cameron, Member JMRI Dev Team www.jmri.org www.fingerlakeslivesteamers.org www.cnymod.com www.syracusemodelrr.org |

The SB5 is a.different animal. It does read.the AIU
. I haven't read any thing in the mini panel documents that would prevent it reporting multiple sensors back to JMRI. It is worth an experiment to empirically know one way or another. Re: Engine Driver timeout problem
Steve,
I've tried the test version of ED2.9. The clock on the title bar does the job nicely. The error message was /Warning: No response from Withrottle server for 10 seconds. Verify connection./ Whilst this sounds like a network connectivity issue, it happened consistently while running WiThrottle from PanelPro but consistently not while running WiThrottle from DecoderPro3. This could just be coincidence but in my years of working in IT, I've found coincidences do occur but common denominators are far more likely. My refresh rate was the default 5 seconds. I will explore that and the suggestions from others the next opportunity I have on my friend's layout. Thanks again. David. |

Doug,
There is a sensor debounce facility now built into JMRI, in the sensor table, there is a tick button at the bottom of the screen label "Show Sensor Debounce Information", once that is selected you can set up the debounce timers for each sensor, or set them to use the Global option which can be configured under the "Defaults" menu item. Regards Kevin ---In jmriusers@..., <mdozolins@...> wrote : I'm still working on the panels. They work after a fashion.
