I have seagulls squawking on the computer when a train approaches the seaside.
I set the volume on the computer and forget it.
When I don't want squawking, I shut it off the playback with a PanelPro panel switch.
The dispatcher (at the computer) has that discretion.

Locked DISAPPEARING TRACK LINE ON PLAN

I have tried to join the two red squares on my track plan: Keyshift down, press mouse on one connection point, and drag to the second connection point

A track line appears on my plan, but on releasing the key and mouse ¡®actions¡¯, the track line disappears.

I¡¯m sure I am making a basic mistake, but guidance would be appreciated/

Raspberry Pi's used to be very cheap and not really that expensive now considering what it can do but with new alternatives wondered if they were a feasible option.
?
I already have an RPi 5 for my layout but for testing purposes only need an RPi 3, I'm sure lots of my friends have one knocking about and in the loft not being used so I'm going to see if I can negotiate to buy one. Silly prices on eBay.

Hi All,
I would like view messages exchanged between JMRI and WiFi Throttle. Someone, can suggest me how I can do this, please ?
Help guide talk about debug menu but in JMRI 5.6 isn't present (is hide ?).

Jean Louis,

There are a couple of minor changes that I would recommend.

In the Layout Editor menu, select Tools -> Check. ?The various sub menus are handy for validation. ?You have an end bumper sitting to the left of the spur track. ?That can be deleted. ?The spur track is connected to an anchor point. ?It is showing yellow which indicates an error. ?It turns out that there is also an end bumper at the same location. ?After moving the anchor point, you can see the end bumper. ?Delete it. ?Then use the right click menu on the anchor point to change it to an end bumper. ?

I prefer to use LogixNG for initialization. ?Since you already have a Route for setting the turnouts, a simple LogixNG works nicely.
Since I am running in simulation mode, I also created a route for the occupancy sensors.

Note: ?DCC++ simulation does not work well so I use LocoNet simulation with the connection prefix set to D. ?I also had to change the turnout feedback to DIRECT.

After the changes, the signals work and running an Dispatcher auto train works properly.

"jmriusers" is a group at?/g/jmriusers. ?In the left column is a selection for "Files". ?When you click on that, scroll down to "ProblemsBeingWorkedOn" and click on it. ?Then click on the "New/Upload" button to upload a file.

You might need to logon with your groups.io account name and password.

Jean-Louis,

The most likely issue is that you have not initialized the internal direction sensors that Dispatcher adds to the SSL.

The Sensors table "Defaults -> Initial Sensor State" menu item can be used to set the initial state of the internal sensors. ?Select the "Inactive" option.

I checked and :

For the sensors I put the option by default as inactive.
For the turnouts I run a route and all the turnouts are closed.

sensor or turnout is showing Unknown, it will cause the signal logic
to display Stop or stay Red. I don't remember if you are using mast or
heads for the signal logic. But if either system sees something as
Unknown, it will not give any other display.

That is an "unknown-to-JMRI" message type, and I have never seen that message on LocoNet.

What _other_ LocoNet hardware are you using? Anything that isn't Digitrax or LocoBuffer?

Locked Loconet freezing

 

On JMRI loconet monitor, I can see all my loconet traffic happily displaying and the trunouts and signals all doing what I expect out on the layout.
Suddenly no loconet traffic, and an error 'Unable to parse Loconet message, contents: 9E 61'
?
All sensor icons on my panels, switches etc. cannot be moved, frozen. Turning off track power via the JMRI power button results in track power going off and the power button going yellow (unknown).
No Loconet traffic at all when power is turned off.
?
Loconet appears to come on after a long time, or if I disconncet one of my loconet branches from the command station, the Loconet comes back. If I reconnect the Loconet branch it will work fine for about 10 minutes, then freezes again.
?
Using JMRI 5.8, Java 11, Command station DCS100 via Loconet buffer (RRCirKits).
?
Any advice most appreciated.

Phil,

Use a xml aware editor and copy the routes element and its content. ?If you are using Windows, I recommend NotePad++.
This is a view using NotePad++ on Windows. ?After loading the xml file, the "View -> Fold Level" menu is used with level 2 selected.

To get the contents, click on the beginning of the "routes" line and drag down one line. ?That way the whole element and its content is selected. ?Now it can be copied.

Yes, the system audio volume on windows7. Attached is info I found on using a 3rd party utility that might work. See my follow questions on the attached snip of the original post.

Despite being the one to request this, I hadn't actually noticed the "migrated" word. Does this mean whichever roster entry HAD the extra CV, it doesn't any more??

Tricky to now find out which decoder it was if so :(
