Re: Voltage vs. Power out
Hi You would be better off using a 12v 7 or 8 Ah gel cell battery I use one with my FT817 and get about 4 days with 5 watts before the battery voltage drops to 11 Volts. 73 Lionel

Re: CAT-Interface circuit plan wanted! - The circuit
Chris; I built a simpler cable/converter that works well. Go to http://www.jps.net/k6xx/ft817/817bbox.pdf and look at the bottom of the schematic on page 2. I just built the serial interface

Re: Radio Shack switching 3 amp power supply
The trick is try to it with a front panel HF whip on 20 in the SSB or CW mode. That tells ALL. Its like a woman with out her make-up! Bill W9WCR

Re: CW Filter / IRC 500 hz installation
Short of removing the filter physically from the radio, you are correct.

Re: CW Filter / IRC 500 hz installation
Sorry that my post was misleading. I understand that the NAR switch does NOT perform any function when it comes to using the SSB filter. However, the prior post was a little confusing in that area.

Re: SSB Filter Selection - Performance
I am very interested in any data you have about the SSB filter. At first "blush" the SSB filter is a waste of money. However, I have heard from others that it is a good "refinement" for the

USB, etc. for radios...
I think you're speaking from a very PC-centric view. Many of us don't wanna use a PC - even a laptop - that drains more power heating the CPU than which is radiated by the antenna - just something
