Sorry that my post was misleading. I understand that the NAR switch does
NOT perform any function when it comes to using the SSB filter. However,
the prior post was a little confusing in that area. I often see others post
messages that say to be sure you enable the SSB filter via the NAR function.
This does not enable the SSB filter as it is always on once the function 38
is selected. However, NAR does enable the CW filter after the function 38
is selected.

I'm surprised that so many people find this confusing. Just like any other
transceiver, you have the option to turn your narrow filter on or off (use
it or not as conditions dictate). Installing a filter does not turn it on,
it just makes it available. Use of the, "nar", mode is described on page
14
under, "Front Panel Controls and Switches".
