Re: CAT-Interface circuit plan wanted! - The circuit
Yes - To make a CT-62 yourself (I disassembled and reverse engineered a real CT-62 and copied it using a MAX-232 chip with N4IP on the #AMSAT IRC a couple of months back). Yaesu use a different

FT-817 Accessories
Hi FT-817 user?s! The FT-817 is a very excellent piece of equipment. But for optimized CW use, some improvements or accessories are necessary. Here some of my thought?s and a description of my

Re: Power connector for Z11?
I'm not sure what the spec is on that connecter, LDG supplies one with the Z11. However, unlike the one on the FT-817, it seems to be a very common size as I found I had a half dozen wall warts laying

Re: CAT-Interface circuit plan wanted!
Page 70 of the US manual states that level conversion is accomplished in the CT-62 cable. Level converters ARE needed, and you either have to buy the CT-62 cable or build your own.

Re: Power connector for Z11?
Doug, According to my Z-11 Manual, the power connector is a 5.5 X 2.5 mm coaxial connector. I got mine at Radio Shack, but don't have access to the RS part number. Hope this

Re: CAT-Interface circuit plan wanted!
The US manual does indeed say that level converters are not needed. I suspect that Yaesu is finally catching up with current state of the art, albeit about 10 years slow. In most applications, it's

Power connector for Z11?
Can someone tell me easily what power connector the Z11 uses? I'm building cables for my power supply system, and figured I'd to get a jump on it. 73, doug

Check out K6XX's 817 pages. http://www.jps.net/k6xx/ft817/ft817.htm This is just one of many examples found on the web Often they're listed under ICOM, also. 73, doug From:

Re: CAT-Interface circuit plan wanted!
Careful, as I understand it the level converter is not in the FT-817 but is built into the CT-62 cable from Yaesu. If you just make your own cable you won't have the required level conversion. For

I am not absolutly sure, but I think the converter is built in on the FT817. Manual says the line level converter is built in. All you need is the cable rig to serial. I am having trouble locating

CAT-Interface circuit plan wanted!
