Neptune 50w amp repair(s)
Is there anyone in the U.S. that knows and can work on the Neptune 50w external amp (manual band ) sold by 60dbm.com?
?
I purchased one (used) almost a year ago and it does not put out any power on the 6m band. The other bands are fine.?
?
Yes, I purchased it used and it arrived DOA for the 6m band. Buyer beware. My fault.
?
Had a local tech look at it and he said there were some issues with the wiring and even with the schematic, was not able to fix the problem. I've since also replaced a whanky BNC connector and the power push on/off switch now needs to be replaced.
?
Yes, I've contacted the supplier/builder in the Ukraine and he said send it and I'll look at it.But, with back and forth shipping costs and then the labor/parts costs I would be out more than I paid for the amp. I recently emailed them for specs on the power switch and still no response. I appreciate Ukraine is still at war with Russia but expected some response.
?
So, while I currently have a 80m-10m external amp I would like to get it to work for 6m with my FT 817ND.
?
Any suggestions?
?
thanks,
?

Re: W4RT ONE-PLUG POWER
Nice going. I went with the Windcamp battery and charging kit on my new to me, NIB FT817 non ND Somewhere I read that the radio draws current even when off. The Windcamp has an on/off switch. This also talks about finals.?https://www.google.com/search?q=ft817+power+when+off+blowing+finals&client=ms-android-tracfone-us-rvc3&sca_esv=70f4ebeb2a5fd702&sxsrf=AHTn8zrtHtU0yZEVacTfA76N0rrfXEit5Q%3A1744659891474&ei=s2X9Z9bNHPuaptQP3YiZwQc&oq=ft817+power+when+off+blowing+finals&gs_lp=EhNtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1zZXJwIiNmdDgxNyBwb3dlciB3aGVuIG9mZiBibG93aW5nIGZpbmFsczIFECEYoAEyBRAhGKABMgUQIRigATIFECEYoAFI815QqBpY9FpwAHgAkAEAmAG1AaABiQ-qAQQ0LjEyuAEDyAEA-AEBmAIQoALdD8ICCBAAGLADGO8FwgIFEAAY7wXCAgUQIRirApgDAIgGAZAGBZIHBDMuMTOgB_Y7sgcEMy4xM7gH3Q8&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-serp Mike WA1MAD On Apr 13, 2025 4:14 PM, "David KE6YX via groups.io" <dacuttler@...> wrote:

Re: Outbanding on 2/70cm
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýMike lives on the Isle of Man (it looks like), and I suspect he has a 2 MHz 2 meter band on his FT-817, in his region, a 4 MHz 2 meter band is ¡°outbidding¡± and *should* be achievable with a MARS mod.Ken?

Re: Outbanding on 2/70cm
What kind of transverters are you using? What are the IF frequencies? All my transverters 902 MHz through 76032 MHz use a 144 MHz IF except for 24192 MHz, which uses 432 MHz. That is typical of everyone in this area I know who is on the microwave bands. Zack W9SZ On Sun, Apr 13, 2025 at 1:01?PM Mike via <gd6icr=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: W4RT ONE-PLUG POWER
I recently acquired an FT-817, and wanting to replace the old W4RT battery, I went with HQRP, which fits perfectly.?
I charge it off a 13v power supply, and haven't noticed any problems or overheating.?
?
I wired an inexpensive meter in line purchased off Ebay for about $5.00. With the charge time set to 10 hours, it shows about 280ma.?
?
While I haven't taken it into the field yet, the rig appears to be functioning ok on my desk putting out a solid 5 watts off the new battery.?

Re: Outbanding on 2/70cm
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýAre you asking for the mod commonly referred to as the MARS Mod?There are a number of resources on the web, like: ? Good Luck, Ken, N2VIP On Apr 13, 2025, at 13:01, Mike via groups.io <gd6icr@...> wrote:

Outbanding on 2/70cm
In order to get ful coverage on 23cm 13cm and 10ghz I need to expand my rigs coverage so to give me expanded coverage via my tranverters. I have some optional switches on the local oscillators on the transverters but still will leave me insufficient coverage on those bands
?
any help would be appreciated

Re: WolphiLink Unit Android Software?
I hasten to add that it runs on Android 4.0 so people will get the "old version" and "subject to vagaries", etc. Answering that one understands the risks involved, etc. will allow it to run.

Re: WolphiLink Unit Android Software?
Thank you for the guidance. I was looking for WolphiLink but the app's name is DroidPSK (or DroidRTTY,? etc.) and can be found here for those interested..

Appreciate the help!

Re: WolphiLink Unit Android Software?
I think it's still available in the play store , but because it hasn't been updated it isn't marked as working with newer OS versions. So you won't see it on the store with a new device and it probably won't function?entirely?as expected if you installed it.? Chase down an older?tablet or phone and it would likely show up, and/or search on some of the apk direct websites and you can probably still find it.
