Re: Problem with greasing the spindles on F700 #shaper
Our spindles are different but I would guess that the slot opening is same ~14 mm. I measured both with calipers before responding to you but here is the pic of the offending part. Imran Malik

Re: Problem with greasing the spindles on F700 #shaper
Imran, thanx for the picture. ?We have different spindles. I realize now as I take pictures and measure, that the solution may not be so far away after all. Two things are visible in my pictures. One

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
I could only hope someone would feel ambitious enough to fabricate and offer a parallel fence similar to Mac¡¯s! It¡¯s a great design! Wade

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
I use one of Brian¡¯s parallel guides in conjunction with the flip stop, and it works well for longer pieces. For shorter pieces I use a Fritz and Frans jig. I¡¯ve been concerned about using the

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
Well, I make and sell the parallel fences, so take that for what it is worth. As Imran mentioned, the Felder short fence is not able to be moved up and down the slider, which limits how well. that

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
David thanks for posting that, not seen it before....every time I use the Felder parel fence I'm thinking why did the design it like this, it's horrible, and one day I will make something without that

Re: Problem with greasing the spindles on F700 #shaper
I have KF700 from 2001. There was a change to 4 speed spindle in ~2004. Here is a pic of my grease gun on 1.25¡± spindle. The slot width on all of my spindles is 14 mm and the top width is 10 mm.

Re: Problem with greasing the spindles on F700 #shaper
Hi Henrik. The spindel needs to come out of the machine to allow access to the grease points. I have the same gun as you show, you have to press the gun nozzle quite hard against the grease nipple and

Imran gave you a great summary of why the short crosscut fence is not a substitute for a parallel fence. You might also find this document helpful:

Re: Problem with greasing the spindles on F700 #shaper
I have been using that same grease gun pictured since I got my machines in 2001. Remove the zerk and pump (after you prime the grease gun over a garbage can) no more than 1/2 to 3/4 of one pump into

Re: Problem with greasing the spindles on F700 #shaper
Hi. According to Felder there is only one size of the grease gun tip. I'll take a picture when I come home. Do we have the same model of shaper/spindles? My machine model is a F700Z from 2008.

Re: Problem with greasing the spindles on F700 #shaper
Hi David. Thanks for that. That's good to know. My problem is that the machine was unused for ten years before I bought it three years ago, so I don't know when it was last lubricated, but it's

Re: Problem with greasing the spindles on F700 #shaper
Keep in mind that too much grease is as fatal to bearings as too little. I don't like adding grease unless there is also an exit passage for the excess unless I can examine the bearing and assure that

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
I gather you are thinking of using a short xcut fence near operator end in conjunction with the long xcut fence on the outrigger at the far end of the slider. This to make parallel cuts. The short

Re: Shaper Spindle Question
By definition, any sliding table going past a vertical spindle will give you a straight cut, so as long as your piece is set up square/parallel your results will be correct. This has more to do with
