Thanks for the details. Good to know that it is quiet and vibration free. There is a lot of metal around so likely heat won’t be an issue. Imran On Jun 7, 2021, at 1:32 PM, Alex Bowlds <aabj@...> wrote:
?Hi Imran, There is no vibration, and no rattle. There are no belts or pulleys. The compressor has four small rubber pads that were used to mount it to the original frame. I left those in place and just set it in place inside the void space in the saw frame. It is not secured, however the copper tubing does provide some resistance to movement of the compressor. It isn’t loud in its original condition, and is quieter still once enclosed inside the saw. My only concern has been the potential for the compressor to overheat. That is why I didn’t add any additional insulation that might restrict air movement around the compressor. The compartment that houses the compressor has several places where air can enter at the bottom, and escape at the top, to allow for ventilation. So far, temperature has not been a problem. I considered adding a small fan, but I will wait and see. Stay safe, and have a wonderful day, Alex On Jun 7, 2021, at 9:53 AM, imranindiana via groups.io <imranindiana@...> wrote: |

This is pretty cool but I would have never considered it because of vibration. A year or so ago, I placed my horizontal tank compressor under saw table. It is 2-stage belt driven setup. Anyhow, it would move slightly and the plastic shroud around the pulley would come in contact with the under the table support arm. When that happened, I could feel vibration in the saw. So did you have to install the compressor with some isolators? Is there any vibration in the saw with compressor running? You may not know the answer to this but wonder if the noise is higher, same or lower between the compressor you bought and the current install. ?Hi Mike, I didn’t want to run the big compressor just for Mac’s clamps. My solution was to purchase one of the little Senco brand compressors with a 1 gallon tank that the big box stores sell for use with small nailers. I cut the tank off the frame and removed all the components. I installed the compressor, tank, and related components in void spaces in my KF700SP, and wired it in. I did have to make certain to include the neutral in the wiring between the panel and the saw because this little compressor runs on 110V. At the time, I didn’t think to look for a small compressor that runs on 220V. If that was available, I could have avoided dealing with the neutral leg. The rest was just plumbing and identifying the best place to tie in the power to the compressor. The compressor will come on when I turn on the master switch to the machine. I can control it independently with the pressure switch, if needed. It provides air for the clamps and just enough air to blow the dust off the top of the saw when needed. Most of the plumbing is with plastic tubing, except for the copper tubing between the compressor and the tank, which gets hot. It took a couple hours to install once I gathered all the parts. It wasn’t difficult. It required drilling several large holes for the gauges, pressure regulator and pressure switch. Locating them in a convenient place that was not in the way of saw components took a little planning, but worked out well. The compressor is not loud, but it is noticeable. I am certain I can make it quieter still if I choose to insulate the compressor. Care needs to be taken here to not cause it to overheat by over insulating against the noise. Felder resells them for certain machines and for either saw or shaper, just look up "quick-lock" on the e-shop:
I bought one for my shaper spindle -- 2012 year CF741 machine -- part number 604-108 but I don't see it on the e-shop, might have to ask your salesperson. -- - Dave Rossetti, Santa Fe |

开云体育Dave,ProLock makes them for saw arbors and shaper spindles. We are talking about the shaper spindle here. The spindle caps were 100 euro each, that must have been 2015 or 2017. Joe?

It allows you to change cutters without opening the saw and locking the shaft - hand tighten a nut and then a small set screw type mechanism and done

Michael,
It was not stock. ?I sent in measurements and they made the spindle caps.
Since they made them once they probably have the design. ?
My first ?spindle cap had a thin top cap and broke, the other three spindle caps are still fine as far as I know. ProLock sent a thicker replacement cap. ?The reason I mention this is it would be better to get the modified thicker design. ?When
I get to the office I will search for the emails with ProLock, I think there may have been a drawing that I could share.
