Wixey digital fence on K500 rip fence - feedback
I saw on another forum someone who put a wixey digital fence for the rip fence on a K3.
I am wondering whether someone has already done so or someone can shim in about how precise and repeatable it can be. For $120 box, that looks dirt cheap for precision. I am sure anyone can put that on a K500, but I wonder whether a small move in this additional fence or just the fact that this fence will not be 100% parallel with the main fence can have an impact on the precision. Like you setup everything do a cut test at 4", perfect every-time, but when you move for a cut at 8" you are no more at 8" because your additional fence is not parallel to the main fence. Any feedback is greatly appreciated, Bill |

Re: Power drive option on saw
Power Drive for height and angle - worthwhile options. They seemed costly upfront, but over time I believe you will appreciate that it simply works and is repeatable. I just finished some legs for a dining table that had angles that I was able to repeat over and over. Obviously, the robust and tried and true methods developed prior to digital height & angle changes still work but with these options, it makes it easier to 100% focus on the project, not the tool.?
And if you use the rip fence as a bump stop often (say in a production capacity) the Digi-Drive would be a consideration. It's costly, but compared to a Tiger Fence it's close in price. I would love to have a Felder option for a panel mounted manual lead-screw rip fence adjustment, like the Martin...I can dream right?? |

Thanks for the details. Supposedly there is a grease fitting as the manual recommends using a grease gun. I have looked cursorily and not seen one. Will have to take a closer look in a day or two to see if I locate it. Imran On Jun 15, 2020, at 9:36 AM, Cliff Rohrabacher, Esq. <rohrabacher@...> wrote:

What are you using to lubricate the Saw Height/Elevation guide. I assume all motorized saw have this maintenance requirement. Please share if this is not correct. Thanks, Imran -----Original Message-----

Re: Power drive option on saw
开云体育Hi Lucky, thanks for the details that really helps as your thoughts are in line with what I would want if I add the power drive option, I had remembered hearing about some issues but now I do think I remember it was with a shaper and not a saw. Sounds like a solid option and if I remember correctly its about $1500 Which really isn’t a lot in the big scheme of things. I think paring it with the xfence dro and rip dro would be a win.?I am just so used to lining up critical cuts with the blade and sneaking up on the cut for a sweet fit that it’s been hard for me to imagine just relying and trusting the dro’s, a bit counterintuitive I know but I am a little nutty like that ?... I do think the power drive option on my AD941 has changed they way I think a bit, couldn’t imagine being without it, that was after using a scm j/p with one in my home shop for 25 yrs and my scm 63b in my business. Thanks for your thoughts! Regards, Mark On Jun 13, 2020, at 5:08 PM, David Luckensmeyer <dhluckens@...> wrote:
