I¡¯ve been down this spindle bearing path before. At least in my experience, the bearings were pressed on with a slight interference fit. You could use a bearing heater to expand new bearings enough

There are two bearings in the 1 1/4" shaper spindle. I do not think you can use a grease gun to pump the grease into it, cause there is no zerk. I think the top bearing can be removed after unscrewing
