Play in my Left Side Flange Shaft 4
I pulled my driver's side CV axle and replaced the inner CV boot. I also pulled the Flange Shaft out and replaced the oil seal because I have been getting a fair amount of oil leakage from it. This EV has 354k miles on it and the trans is original as far as I know. I bought it with 215k on it and no records, just good regular maintenance. When I reinstalled the axle, I noticed that the flange had quite a bit of lateral play when I was torquing the bolts. I think I've found one reason for the leak. The old seal was pretty hard and the new one is nice and pliable. My question is what is the job here? Total trans rebuild? It's probably due. How long can I drive it? Thanks, Kent

Anyone know how to remove an AC condensor from a 1995 EVC (Winnabago) 4
I am replacing my AC compressor, dier, expansion valve and Condenser tomorrow morning with the help of a friend and am unable to figure out how to remove the condenser. It is trapped by a plastic trim piece at the top under the metal core support which is held in place by two rubber bumpers that I cannot find how to release/remove. Also trapped at the bottom by a plastic tray.

'99 VR6 Valve Cover Gasket Leak
Looking for some advice on how to repair my 1999 EVC's 12 valve VR6 valve cover gasket which is leaking. The gasket is metal and is integrated into the valve cover. Back in the day you'd buy a new cover which came with the gasket. As you may have guessed you can't buy a new replacement anymore. I am trying to determine the best course of action. Hunt down a used cover with gasket that seems to be in good enough condition, modify a cover or gasket from a different model VW, or get creative with my current cover and the best choice sealant. Many of our EVs, EVCs, and T4s will likely be needing this fix but it has been some yeas since you could source the part. For reference, this video sums up the situation well, but I can't find info on if the creator's fix held up over time. https://youtu.be/kjqYDa20bMo?t=62 What have y'all done? Who has a recommendation? Or who found a fix that held up?

Any UK Eurovan owners out there? 7
I am in the UK and planning to sell our 95 T4 Eurovan this year. We have owned it since 2009 and have never seen another one. Are there any owners in the UK who follow this site?

High idle RPM and radiator fans seem to not be turning on 2
I've noticed that my 1993 Eurovan has been idling high (about 1500+ RPMs). And I'm 99% sure that my radiator fans have not been turning on. I'm wondering if a temp sensor or something else could be to blame... and how I might be able to check it. I did have a leak and a day when it ran quite hot for a 20 minute drive. Maybe the coolant temp sensor got damaged? Does anybody have a measuring blocks legend (I have VCDS) with appropriate value ranges for the temp sensor(s)? I ran an autoscan VCDS, but the 1993 scan results are very basic. No errors. Maybe a vacuum leak as well?

wiring diagram for behind fuse box
On my 02 mv I can not remove the drop down fuse panel to get at the driver door harness connectors. I can swing the white tabs up but only the right side of the fuse box will lift up. The left side is firmly frozen in place like something in the back is blocking that side. lying on my back and Looking up and behind the fuse panel there is a nightmare of wires and I'm very reluctant to start reaching up into them in order to find the blockage. All the on line diagrams only show the front of the relay and fuse panels. I will need to know where all those wires and connectors are mounted if I have to unplug them in order to find and unblock the fuse panel. Anyone have a back side diagram? Thanks for any help. 2003 body (doors & hatchback) for 1993 2
Does anybody know if the doors (fronts & slider) and hatchback from a 2003 will fit on a 1993? Some of mine are rusted, and 1993s are difficult to find. Also, any idea if a 2003 windshield would fit on a 1993?

ID-buzz? 8
They're here... Has anyone checked em out yet? Cool exterior and interior and AWD performance but poor range and bad cold weather range and poor nav and other software and miserably unreliable charging options is the "buzz". A vw van you can't comfortably road trip in,? Come on!

1993 EV - Southern California - exhaust manifold 4
Does anybody know of a repair shop in Southern California that has done or is confirmed willing to do exhaust manifold work on a 1993 EV? I've taken my EV to two shops, and neither of them want to touch it. I'm told my exhaust manifold has a crack/leak. I've sourced a spare. I'm tempted to try it myself, but I don't have anybody to assist, prob missing some tools, and have never done anything like this before.

Eurovan Repair shops 8
after reading posts mentioning the growing paucity of reliable shops, I thought I'd put in a word for three I've had excellent experiences: MAG VW Dublin,OH This is my hometown dealer I've worked with the service manager Stan Ralph for 40 years of different VW's. I'm sure that familiarity helps. Developing a relationship one primary advisor and having mechanics with years of experience helps. They have gone above and beyond what most places would do whether I'm in town or somewhere on the road to help and often work with on the phone a shop somewhere to help me out. Konstruct Performance Inc Santa Fe,NM The above mentioned Stan Ralph called them to plead my case with this VW/Audio only independent shop. Here's my review: 1997 VW Eurovan full camper Visiting Santa Fe from Ohio when check engine light came on and engine stated missing. Checked the codes with my handy code reader(27 year old vehicle, good to carry one). Code said cylinders misfiring. Checked with 3 VW dealers and 4 independent shops in SF and Albuquerque. Konstruct was the only one that even works on Eurovans. They were scheduled 3 weeks out but brought me in for a diagnostic, offered to get the parts and had me fixed and on the road in 3 days. Great to work with, costs were right on the estimate. Cannot recommend them enough. Integrity Import Service, Grawn, MI (Traverse City) Another independent shop welcoming Eurovans with excellent reputation. I'm fortunate to have a second home near Grayling,MI where I also store the EVC winters. I've used them for routine service and to track down dreaded check engine lights. They are very accommodating. Even give you a free loner car. One note. If it's a CEL they have a standard $300 fee to find the problem. The actual repair cost is on top of that. I hope this info may be of help. If you do happen to go to MAG, ask for Celsea. She's my current service advisor and mention my name: Elden Apling. It couldn't hurt. Before Chelsea, I had Bobby C. who spent a lot of time talking to shops around the country to find the best option to rebuild my transmission. E

Parts Suppliers 8
The recent thread re EVC value morphing into parts and repair reminded me. I've had good luck getting parts from suppliers on ebay that weren't available from our US suppliers. Germany, Latvia, UK Salvage suppliers on ebay also frequently have one offs. E

2003 2.8 Eurovan upshifts are hard if I lift my foot before 4th gear 2
Search Community Home Forums VW Model-Specific Forums Vans and Transporters - all years 2003 T4 2.8 transmission upshifts are hard,..when foot lifted Tags None Jump to LatestUnfollow 1 - 1 of 1 Posts bcolins Registered Joined Jan 19, 2021 14 Posts Discussion starter¡¤#1¡¤4h ago When I bought my 2003 Eurovan/T4 from the original owner 5 years ago, it had 102,000 miles on it. I had a noticeably hard 1/2 upshift if the accelerator pedal pressure was lifted/decreased after initial acceleration away from a stop. Now, 5 years later with 130,000 miles on it,....I get hard upshifts with 1/2, 2/3 and 3/4 upshifts IF and only if I lift my foot after initial acceleration, before reaching 4th gear. To clarify,......If I apply throttle from a stop,.....AND keep my foot position constant,.....(do not lift my foot) then, all the shifts are normal. It does this whether hot or cold,.....no difference. I did a transmission service when I first bought the van,....replacing the filter and fluid (just draining and refilling with filter),....and have changed it it again at 129,000 miles. I also replaced all three engine and transmission mounts when I first bought it. I have read that the N92 solenoid controls shift quality,....and that the internal ribbon cables can cause various issues,...... Anyone else experienced this hard shift when accelerator pressure is lifted/reduced? Brian in Austin Reply Quote 1 - 1 of 1 Posts Write your reply... These VOGUE tires are available at my local tire shop. Anyone know anything about them? They are 102H not 104H. Is that high enough rating for my 2001 Camper? Any other suggestions for San Diego? Thanks! Serge
