I haven't seen these responses (just might never have noticed), and not to be overly simple, but are you sure that you're using the QS modules vs the older HWI modules??
The fact that your system is responding with Lutron HWI...? makes me think that something is off...

The latest Core module (and subsequent module suite) is Lutron HomeWorks QS Core Module IP r03...

Re: Lutron QS

Tony,
Im not in front of it at the moment but I just downloaded the module from the Lutron site a week ago and believe it said version 3.

Re: TSR-310 microphone input

Tony,

Thanks for the report.? That gives me inspiration to take a closer look at it.

Thanks,

The processor still registers with Amazon or Google, and uses the Voice-Control modules in the program to trigger actions the same way it does with Amazon Echo or Google Home devices, which can be used simultaneously if desired. The TSR-310 essentially becomes another input device.

However, a HUGE benefit of the arrangement is the TSR-310's cloud-processed voice command (i.e., what Amazon or Google "thinks" the user is saying) is fed back into the program and can be run through an SIO to trigger just about anything you can think of. Because of that, it can respond to all types of things that are ignored or not understood by Alexa or Google Home.

Re: Incremental FW Update?

Yea I always do FTP then 'Puf' whenever possible. ?Made the mistake of a battery dying on my laptop while doing a direct update using the puf tool one time... Learned a lesson hard and fast there..

Also due to current coronapocalypse I cant actually travel to this job site so doing things over VPN. ?Defiantly not going to try and run a puf tool on VPN.

Thanks!

Re: Need a simple 1080P or 4K video player with IP or serial control.

The only thing that can provide a stream for an NVX decoder is another NVX. ?i.e you cant just decode a regular web stream with an NVX decoder. ?So if you did a bright sign or similar it would need to be fed into the NVX system on an HDMI input on an encoder.

Re: Lutron QS

Not QSX
Can use PUTTY and login just fine using the supplied user name and password
TCPIP client connects just fine with an analog "2" indicating so
Once connected the RX$ from the module displays "LOGIN:"
The TX$ on the module stays silent
The debugger displays "Lutron HWI Core: S-6.1 - No or incorrect data was received from processor via IP, check for correct device"
Then:? "Lutron HWI Core: S-6.1 - Crestron disconnected from Lutron Processor via IP"

I tried every traditional and suggested combination of user and password but the module never transmits anything, it just times out.
The module cannot be modified as its password protected...

Re: Incremental FW Update?

So far, I haven't had issues upgrading firmware on Series3 processors.?? However, if you had a really ancient firmware, I would upgrade to firmware v1.007.0019 as that is when you can use Filezilla to push firmware.? After that, use Filezilla to push firmware to the \FIRMWARE folder on the processor (delete any old version in the folder).? Then open a text console and execute "puf".? I generally like doing the console window via USB so I can see how the firmware update proceeds.? Give it time (up to about 30 minutes).? But it is a lot faster than the old method of using Toolbox.

question is the Pro3 is on a pretty old FW 1.009.xxx
i haven¡¯t upgraded a processor from that far back before. Wondering if anyone has had issues upgrading from old FW like that straight to current ?

Thanks!

Re: Problem opening files after recovering them SIMPL

Something I've head a few years ago that stuck with me "If it doesn't exist in three places, it doesn't exist".

Re: Problem opening files after recovering them SIMPL

I'm sorry for your loss of the files.? It's possible they are recoverable with some extreme recovery (but who knows). I would keep it up until there were no other options.? It does sound like access rights might be the issue.? Have you tried moving them to another computer to see if they will open there?? Mount with Linux and see if the .zip's and .txt files can be opened normally?? Is it possible you got hit with a ransomware attack that encrypted all the files?

Also, this is a good time to remind everyone that BackUps are important.? And not only are backups important, but testing your backups periodically are important as well, to make sure you can restore files and there are not hidden 'gotchas'.? I don't want to lecture, but most people get more serious about backups after a big loss like this (including myself).

Remember the "3-2-1 backup rule":
3 - Copies of your files (minimum)
2 - BackUp Sets on different media/drives or storage mechanisms.
1 - OffSite backup (physically at another building or in the cloud).

There are many options out there.? I'm solo (vs working with a larger company), so my backup plan involves a Synology NAS appliance, and an iDrive subscription.? All my laptops/PC's backup locally to the NAS once per day, and directly to the cloud in near real time.? In addition, the NAS runs an iDrive client that it then does a backup of itself to the cloud as well when files change.? This is all automatic, without much fuss or input from me other than checking to make sure it's all working now and then.? It also helps me sleep at night better knowing I have 20yrs of projects, as well as all my personal family stuff protected.

CEN-UPS1250 will not stay connected to processor

Hey Crew,

I have an issue that has become a consistent problem.? I have multiple CEN-UPS1250's installed in Data rooms and all of them are dropping offline after a few months of operation.? Crestron has replaced several of them and they worked for a while and then follow suit and drop offline.? I can get them back by pushing the reset button on the back of the unit but this is becoming a pain and is making Crestron look bad.? Has anyone else had this issue and, if so, is there a fix for it?

Thanks,
DAVE

Re: Need a simple 1080P or 4K video player with IP or serial control.

Thanks!
I guess the stream itself can be used within NVX?? Or do I have to use one of the hdmi inputs on the 351?

Re: Need a simple 1080P or 4K video player with IP or serial control.

Brightsign would be an option. ?You can trigger playback from crestron several ways including UDP or a relay.

Thanks!

Re: Web-based local temperature

Thanks, Hope (and all!).
I forgot about the Crestron weather module. Thought it was deprecated...

Re: CTI-P301

Thanks guys ?

Re: Problem opening files after recovering them SIMPL

Thanks all for your replies. I¡¯ve exhausted all the ideas and have just faced the fact I¡¯ve lost all those files. Back to the drawn board sadly.

enjoy your weekend?

Need a simple 1080P or 4K video player with IP or serial control.

Need to put an intro video into a NVX matrix for signage etc...
?Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks!
Greg

Re: Matrix Analog vs DM Tool

That makes sense.?

Just to be clear, you are saying use an ABUF and SBUF with same signals on input/output (left side/right side) and I can get the benefits of both symbols? I have never thought of doing this.

Thanks!
