Re: Sudden nk.exe error in DIN-AP3
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýIf you do an internet search on nk.exe you will find that nk.exe is part of the? Windows Embedded CE OS and starts up very early in the boot process.?If the program has work for years without issues, than most likely it is something external that is causing the error -- most likely something on the network. The most obvious question is do you have an of you DIN-AP3 ports exposed to the Internet.? If you do, it is most likely caused by someone trying to hack into your Crestron processor.? While you used to be able to forward ports to the Internet, that is no longer the case -- particularly in the case of the Series 2 and Series 3 Crestron processors. HEOS module - source feedback and grouping functions
Hey all!
We are using a Denon HEOS multiroom system in our home. The crestron system (RMC3/TSW752) is expanded with MP-B10 Keypads in each room, so we don't need our smartphones to control the music.? The module from the application market works well but most functions are more or less basic. And to use the MP-B10 buttons and LEDs we need digital input and output signals. By telnetting with the Denon CLI protocol into the system I use some additional digital input functions like? - source selection (local sources, USB drive, playlists, favorites) - zone volume instead of group volume Now I want to expand the telnet SIO with true "selected source" feedback to illuminate the Source-LED on the MP-B10 panels. A further todo is setting up the grouping functionality.? My attempt is to get the informations by using serial substrings of the telnet rx$ but this would be a lot of work, I think.? Has anyone of you done some additional programing to the basic modules and likes to share some ideas? Thank you! Regards Peter |
Re: Lutron QS
If it was "easy", anyone could do it.

Lutron QS and Crestron have been integrated successfully THOUSANDS of times, so there are only three possibilities... 1. The Lutron processor is defective. 2. There's a programming error that's been overlooked. 3. The information that's been reported so far is inaccurate. Although possible, #1 is EXTREMELY unlikely, considering the lights are still working otherwise. That leaves #2 or #3, and those can be cleared up by answering a couple more questions. Let's start with - EXACTLY which module(s) are you using (again)? --- On Sunday, April 12, 2020 at 3:41 AM, AVMaster wrote: |
Re: Lutron QS
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI have crestron and lutron at my house. ? Almost all the time it works fine. ?But I¡¯ve had the situation where If I reprogram the lutron homeworks qs processor it¡¯s then the crestron won¡¯t connect to it. ? The weird thing is that I can login
to the qs processor itself via web and via designer but crestron gets caught in a loop where it never connects to the lutron via IP.?
It¡¯s a while since I¡¯ve had it happen. But it¡¯s always been fixed by just rebooting the homeworks qs processor. ?I¡¯ve never had to reboot crestron to make it work. ?
Don¡¯t know if that helps.?
So basically after I¡¯ve made changes to the lutron programming I need to upload the changes which reboots the processor. ?But then reboot it manually again. ?I don¡¯t remember if I had to stop crestron from trying to connect while I rebooted lutron.?

Re: Lutron QS
Thanks for the insight but yeah, Im using the QS modules for sure. ?I¡¯m moments away from throwing in the towel on this one.
its especially frustrating when little creeper things like this happen because Crestron isn¡¯t particularly interested in helping and Lutron has no idea what I'm even saying to them lol. ?I took this job thinking it would be a slam dunk but need to pivot to something that will actually pay the bills. |
Cobranet on DM
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýSo this is a bad idea but it¡¯s my house, where bad ideas reign supreme ? ? In the living room I have a Cisco VTC camera -> DM-TX-201-C ---(direct DM link)--> DM-RMC-100-C --> Cisco C-series CODEC (Video) and switch (LAN) in the garage data rack. ? Using a mic that requires Phantom power and not having any unused copper pairs between the living room and the garage I¡¯m using a Biamp EXPI to phantom power the mic and turn it into Cobranet, then an EXPO in the garage to feed it into the CODEC (there is no DSP, the EXPI generating unicast bundle 277, the Expo is receiving unicast bundle 277) ? The garage end of the equation is fine ¨C plenty of switchports, EXPO is directly patched to the switch. The living room end of the equation is strange ?-- if I plug the EXPO into the courtesy port on a Cisco phone all is happy, but if I try using the courtesy port on the DM-TX-201 no audio comes out the other end. ? I know it¡¯s not the best (practices) idea but I can¡¯t think of a technical reason for it to work downstream of a Cisco phone but not to work on a DM-TX ¨C and I¡¯ve verified all of the ports are on the right VLAN ?¨C has anyone done this and had it work? ? -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS, DMC-E-4K/T/D ? |
Auto-populate Signal names to modules
Hi All,
I seem to remember in the back of my mind, hearing that there was a way to automatically populate the signal names on a module. I can't find anything about it.... If you just hit return on each input or output, SMW will add a signal name with the name of the I/O slot, pre-pending S-x.x_ to the name. This works fine until you have a module with 100's of I/O's. So I'm looking for some sort of Ctrl/Alt or other command stroke to auto-populate all in one fell swoop! TIA!! |
Re: Incremental FW Update?
Can't stay on 1.504 unless you want to keep your device database old on your computer - the latest couple device databases break simpl+ modules completely when loaded to processors with older firmware. On Sat., Apr. 11, 2020, 11:57 a.m. ckangis, <chris@...> wrote: Kyle, |
Re: Incremental FW Update?
Kyle,
I think you have to get it up to at least v1.10.60 first to be able to FTP, then it's recommended to go to v1.12.17.? ?From there you should be able to make the jump to hyperspace... Me personally, I recommend staying on the 1.504 version, unless the 1.60x is absolutely necessary (I still don't trust them...) |

The debugger displays "Lutron HWI Core: S-6.1 - No or incorrect data was received from processor via IP, check for correct device"I haven't seen these responses (just might never have noticed), and not to be overly simple, but are you sure that you're using the QS modules vs the older HWI modules?? The fact that your system is responding with Lutron HWI...? makes me think that something is off... The latest Core module (and subsequent module suite) is Lutron HomeWorks QS Core Module IP r03... |
