Re: OT-shot in the dark
Ouch expensive mistake. Are you sure that it didn't happen during shipping? ;)

There's an analog init thats either set to 0d and should be 1d or the other way around or a stepper needs to run an init......something like that. ? Sorry for the vagueness but was told about this by a colleague and never actually went into the module. ?Just wanted to point you towards the vicinity.

Re: Ok...whats the Lifesize Trick I'm Missing
Open up the module and look at Ana Init S-1.4 (under common logic). Add a delay symbol to delay the init trigger 10 seconds. The problem is within the S+ module where the "entries per page" is read in too fast upon program load.

Re: Copy/Paste large S+ module
I don't really know of a quicker way than copy, paste, rename. I did find that making a really big base system than cutting it down can be a little quicker. For example build system for 30+ zones all ready for audio and video distro. Then cut out the zones you wouldn't need and tweak the specific zones to their particular needs.

Deleting is much faster but it really matters what your programming habits are and if you have a modular enough style to have this make any sense. I definitely started going the route of - get one zone going perfect than copy/paste/rinse and repeat - but I found once I had a reliable zone controller functions I was doing entirely too much repeat. There are a number of other benefits to this style such as being able to maintain join consistency, quick implantation of new products, and system to system reliability. Just an idea Cheers, SFP --- In Crestron@..., Jeremy Weatherford <jweather@...> wrote:

I've never seen a 4SMD, but I've done dozens of projects with the 4SM [only difference is the button backlight], and Biamp, using hard buttons for volume control.

Though I still use the V5 modules on the 2 series (the 7.x modules annoy me) I've never had that issue with the TPMC-4SM. Given that you're running a 2-series processor and the network stack in the 2-series leaves a little bit to be desired I'd be curious about the network profile *- How many other Ethernet devices in the program (Crestron [including DM endpoints], 3rd party) are you using and how "chatty" are they? *- Is the Crestron gear on an isolated VLAN? *- If not on an isolated VLAN what else is on the VLAN/network? If you watch with Debugger do you see the press and release or do you only see the press? If you press the volume up (or down) button a 2nd time while the volume is running away up (or down) does it stop? -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS Sr. Systems Architect | Crestron Certified Master Programmer (Silver) ControlWorks Consulting, LLC V: 440.449.1100 x1107 | F: 440.449.1106 | I: Crestron Services Provider -----Original Message-----

Re: TPMC-10 Wifi
Because the TPMC-10 is perhaps hands-down the worst touchpanel Crestron ever sold and has absolutely horrid wireless performance under virtually any conditions (Having not ever seen/used the Viewsonic product that the TPMC-10 is built upon, I'm inclined to believe that it was a Viewsonic design issue and not the fault of Crestron, since in that case it's pretty much Crestron software running on top of a Viewsonic Windows CE build as far as I can tell).

(Wow that was a longer rant than I expected). Depending on the version of TPMC-10 it has either a "B" radio or a "B/G" radio. If it has a B radio and the Comcast WAP is only advertising support for "G" speeds [a trick to improve performance because in with a B/G WAP if /any/ device requests "B" support all devices are speed restricted to B speeds -- sort of like a grandma driving 25 on a 1-lane road with a 50 MPH speed limit] -- if that is done, "B" only devices won't be able to see/associate with the WAP. Is the Comcast device also "N"? That may also factor in to it. That said there could be other factors in play. I got second handed an original ("B"-only) TPMC-10 and with it 18" away from a Cisco AP configured to do A/B (no "G" or "N") only it still only sees it maybe 1 in 10 times and I don't think I've ever gotten it to successfully connect. But at the moment I have no shortage of panels, so I'm more inclined to bin it rather than waste more time on it or inflict the pain on a 3rd party. Get an 8X-GA or if you must, an iPad. I think a TPMC-10 is one of the few cases where a iPad would be better than the Crestron product. OT-shot in the dark
Heath Volmer
I have a brand new Runco V63 plasma that we broke during install. Cracked glass. (Yes, ouch!). I cannot find anyone willing to try and repair it, not even Runco. Does anyone know what I might do to get it fixed before I stage a dramatic YouTube video of its falling from a skyscraper or something equally as stupid?
