Re: Zamak alloy
I hate to do this but must. Zamak is a catch-all family name for zinc based alloys. Some are low-end and some go up to the best of the bunch. When you get down to it, ¡°steel¡± is the same sort of

Re: Zamak alloy
Just looked up the MI-252. I'd just make that out of steel. Would work fine.

Re: Zamak alloy
2, 3, 5 all suck. Zmack's only claim to fame is it is cheap to cast and makes nice HotWheels. Of the options, 5 would be best with higher copper content. Are you trying to make some Zamk repayments

Re: Date Atlas mill
The spacers (and shim spacers) are when you use multiple cutters the arbor and need the right spacing. For instance, if you wanted to make t-nuts and needed a bit more clearance. Brandon

The original Atlas drawings for their 7/8" and 1" arbors both show key slots.?? I am in the (probably bad) habit of not using a key an my OEM 7/8" arbor and, so far, have gotten away with it.? I

You can also get ER collet holders on an MT2 shank. Amazon currently has imports from $22 up. I have such in ER-32 & ER-25. My Atlas mill was delivered in a box & 57 baggies. It has been nearly

You definitely want a keyway on that arbor. I had a setup several years back on the same machine running with a bunch of small spacers to get a specific distance between two blades. There was enough
