Hi, So the disassembly on my new to me mill continues and next up was to remove the spindle/backgear housing.? I had noticed back gear was really REALLY hard to engage, and I had assumed it was stiff, resulting from solidified goo.? The taper pin that held the lever to the shaft, had been buggered and bent and looked like it was driven in backward, but never mind that for now.? Once the pin was removed, the lever wouldn¡¯t budge.? So some persuasion was applied, and eventually, it agreed to separate without breakage.? ?The back gear shaft needed some persuasion to leave the housing.? Once apart the source of the stiffness was found, and the shaft has about 0.030 total runout.? I also noticed the shim washer identified as ML-250 on the drawing is missing.? There were some other parts of the shaft that are not on the drawing, and whoever was the last person to have molested this mill thought they had a better idea with some shims and washers¡
?
I wonder if anyone has these two parts in serviceable condition that they would part with?? If not, does anyone have the dimensions of the shim washer?
Thanks for your time.
