On mine, I loosened the "bracket mounting bolts" and moved the drive spindle up to loosen the spindle belts.? Bolt heads were 9/16 and the nuts (under the pulley) were 11/16". Not room for a socket

You need to loosen the stud pulley bracket just under headstock, four 7/16 bolt head. Open end wrench or socket with short extension. You will find rubber washers under lath bed feet. To water proof
