As far as I know thats the deal , but I did read something over on the Practical Machinist Forum before I bought mine where a guy mentioned that they can be taken apart & to change the shank .? google on the forum should come up with that info .

these a ways back & I see that they have a bunch more . Good price for a
happening chuck .








Your kinda stuck with the MT2 shank unless you want to do a bunch of
work , but that's what they make collets for .
