Re: Lathe tachs
'Happy to, Smiley,
I just took a couple quick photos and dropped them into the "Dave's Shop" folder. Called "Atlas Var speed 1" and "Atlas Var speed 2". This one's a 10" TH-42. Loving the setup so

Re: Lathe tachs
Hi All,
FWIW, I've been using a $12 digital tach on my Atlas 10" lathe for quite a while (still powered run by the original 9 volt battery, but I switch it off when not in use), along with a used

Re: Arduino tach
I might be able to help...
Schematic, parts, and code you are trying to use?
Which Arduino board?
What sensor(s)?
Are you using exactly the parts described?
What does it do instead of what it

Welcome to the group. The 10F is a great lath that can produce many fine parts. There are a lot of people here to answer any of your questions.

Re: ELS conversion
I put a Clough42 ELS on my Atlas 618 a few years back.? I did not have a QCGB so for me it is a lot faster and easier to change feeds and gear pitches.? Also does both metric and imperial easily.?

New guy
Hello,
I recently have gotten the carcass of an Atlas 1042. It is an F model
I am currently cleaning it up and piecing it back together.
I also have a Craftsman badged 618.

Re: ELS conversion
If you are doing telescope work, I imagine you are doing thin wall work that really needs to be single point threaded. Makes sense. Everyone has different needs. It is always interesting learning what

Re: [E-Leadscrew] Rockietronics ELS
The answer is Yes* (note the star).
The base unit can run any thread in 0.01mm increments which is 0.0004". Just input the numbers in metric format and you are done. for example, 3/8" = 9.525mm and

Re: ELS conversion
Mike,
If I had a QCGB I probably wouldn't be looking at an ELS. As others have
said and in my case I routinely do metric threads as well as SAE. Mostly
telescopes stuff so metric but some of

Thanks for the reply. I guess I didn't think about chatter since I can deal with that with a VFD controlling rpm. The metric thread cutting makes sense although I have just used a die holder. I was

There are other options on some of the versions. With some you can cut
tapers others you can also ball turn.
