Re: Allen key size for Craftsman 101 4 jaw chuck
Martin,
If you have a set of drill bits in 64th increments just try filling a drill into the hex. It should give you a rough idea. A drill bit will be undersized a few thou but if a 15/64 bit doesn't

Re: Allen key size for Craftsman 101 4 jaw chuck
A bench grinder will do the job. You'll need a light touch. You're only going to remove 1/64 of an inch off 3 faces, or half that from all 6 faces. For that matter, you could use a silicon carbide

Re: Allen key size for Craftsman 101 4 jaw chuck
Amazon lists a set of mini diamond files for $9.39.? The bench grinder will work but you realy got to pay attention and go real slow.

Re: Allen key size for Craftsman 101 4 jaw chuck
Thanks for all your responses. I tried a 6 mm hex key. It does not fit.
Tried a 5.5 mm key it's too loose. I'll try a 15/64" next. Unfortunately I
do not have the diamond files needed to cut a 1/4"

Hi Mike,
It's an MLA A-11 cross slide but a little wider than the print because the casting cleaned up well before I was down the the size Andy specified.? I undercut the tail stock side of the table
