The keyword here is: EMI or in laymen's language: Electromagnetic Interference. Which are kinda radio waves and cause noise to the Servo inputs by induction, like radio antennas receive their signal

I am using the YD7001 and the ProtoThrottle using the NCE/XPressNet adapter. It is my understanding that this is the recommended connection for the DR5000/YD7001.
I would assume that it is possible

Selecting YD7001 from the drop-down did the trick. All working now. Also updated the YD9401, all good

You managed to "brick" it on the previous try ?
But, since both STOP an GO are lit, it means the YD7001 is in Bootloader-Mode. So, directly go to "USB" and do the Update. Might be you need to
