Hall Burning with Dux Brit.
Here's a fun solo game.
A Viking hall with an entrance at both ends. It's held by four level 3 heroes/leaders who count as elites and each as a single group. They are attacked by six groups of 6 figures - all levy, and just 2 archers who act as? two single groups. The heroes in combat get their 3 dice, plus 2 for unit superiority. If they defend the doorway they are not only get bonus of being harder to hit for the building cover [i gave this to their attackers as well] but two defenders can count as a shieldwall? across the doorway too. They cannot form a shieldwall in the open. The heroes take a wound if the levy get a 6 [score needed to kill an elite] and they take shock in the same way as a unit [every two points of shock reduces their combat dice by one; but they can use actions to rally themselves. Each wound reduces their level and so their combat dice. They will run if they have twice as much shock as they have wounds/levels left. The Levy have a tough job but they can set fire to the hall as per the usual rules if their is a unit next to the hall and not engaged by the defenders. The two archers are unlikely to be very effective but they can be a nuisance and encourage the heroes to come further into the open. The only good thing about Levy is all the running away may not affect the force morale too badly. Each of the groups of levy count as having a level one leader in the group [like a super numerum in Infamy]. With the cards each side was randomly dealt six cards [bibamus and portents were in the mix] and leaders [i.e. each hero and each supernumerum] could change cards by the usual rules. In my game all the levy were killed or fled, the hall was burnt, one Viking hero was killed, and another wounded once. I either need to set even more peasants against the Lords, improve my tactics and dice, or perhaps have a couple of rabble rousing priests who can rally the enormous amounts of shock suffered by the levies! Let me know here if you give it a go. |
Re: Nappy Home Alone
开云体育Don’t hear much about LFS there’s the odd article in Lard magazine but I suppose, understandably the main articles are about sharp practice.?I haven’t really played a large battle Napoleonic game for 35 years.?
I’ve test played Age of Eagles and Brigade Fire and Fury 2 to 3 hour games?
For AoE that is 1 corps per side. But a complete battle (historical) like waterloo on a 12’x 6’ table we just didn’t have the time. But friends in Stoke-on-Trent have been playing it since around 2006.?
This COVID 19 hasn’t helped.?
Britcon in Manchester has moved so no open ancient games to prepare for.?

6 Commando attack on Leese, 7 April 1945 6mm IABSM game
We played this 6mm IABSM game back in December and it gave me a chance to get my Commandos on the table for the first time. This scenario came from the Forgotten Battles from France to Germany, January to April 1945 scenario book from Anschluss Publ.? The gist of the game is that the defending Germans are expecting the British to come from the west and have placed their defenses accordingly.? However the Commandos have worked all the way round to the east and are launching their attack from that edge. Germans are defending with a company from a SS training battalion and have 4 20mm Flak guns in support.? The Commandos start with 2 Troops and get additional units later including a troop of tanks. Re: Nappy Home Alone
Rate each commander by temperament (aggressive, cautious, solid, etc.) beforehand, and use that to decide their actions? On Fri, 18 Feb 2022, 14:35 Angelo Dalessandro via , <ang.dalessandro=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: Nappy Home Alone
You could come up with a simple card deck full of actions to help keep the other side unpredictable or use a “Nuts!” Style chart essentially giving them behaviors based on circumstances??

Nappy Home Alone
Hello
My preparations for Austerlitz are nearing completion.
Are there somewhere rules / mechanics for playing large Napoleonic games such as General d'Armee, Snappy Nappy or Marechal d'Empire solo?
I was very impressed by the CoC solo rules in the special, but I cannot make them fit the Napoleonic era.
All the Best
Klaus

Re: Is there an O Group forum somewhere
Sorry Andrew I may have misunderstood you.? There are occasional posts about Reisswitz face-to-face k/spiel games (although covid has got in the way recently).? There is also a link to the website, which has lots of Reisswitz stuff. m On 07 February 2022 at 18:26 "Andrew Holmes via groups.io" <nitpickergeneral@...> wrote: |

Infamy!" had three exciting games and got my mojo back. Thanks TFL Stephen |
