Re: coc us squad/ team activation query
My take on this. I'm writing in game terms, rather than historical organisation.?

The squad is still a squad if the leader is killed. It can only activate on a 2, or by a senior leader using one of their command initiatives.? By contrast the 60mm mortar squad is actually a team in ChoC terms, activating on a 1, or with an initiative from a senior leader.? Kind regards Andrew Holmes

US Army armored infantry company: HQ: 1 x M3A1 half-track, CO, 1 x M3A1 half-track, XO HQ also has jeep, driver; M3 half-track (Maintenance) HQ section and Maintenance section (who don't normally fight) M3A1 has M2HB .50 cal. 3xArmored infantry Platoons each: HQ Section Plt HQ (5 men w/carbines), Rifle Team (NCO and 4 men, M1 rifles) 1 x M3A1 half-track 2xRifle squads each: 1 x M3 half-track, 2x 4-man Rifle teams, 1xSqd Leader, 2 scouts, driver. M3 has M1919A4 .30 cal 1xLMG squad: 1 x M3A1, Driver. 2 x LMG teams each Squad Leader, 4-men (carbines/M1),1x.30 cal M1919A4.? These have vehicle mount for 1 LMG on each side plus carry a tripod for use off of the half-track. 1xMortar squad: 1xM3 half-track, Driver. Mortar Squad 1xSL, Gunner, Loader, 6xAmmunition bearers (carbines), 1x60mm mortar (to be fired when out of the half-track) AT Platoon HQ: 1 x jeep, 1 x M3A1 Half-track, 1 x PLT HQ (carbines), 2 drivers 3 x GUN Sections Each 1xM3A1 half-track, driver, Squad leader, Gunner, 2 loaders, 5 x ammunition handlers (carbines/M1), 1 x 57mm anti-tank gun. NOTES: 1.? Half-track drivers are armed with a SMG (M3 or M3A1, or Thompson) 2.? Each half-track has a bazooka and five rockets. 3.? Infantry squads issued 2 rifle grenade launchers (1 per team) 4.? Infantry squads not issued BAR (but if one was laying around...) 5.? The above is full strength.? U.S. Army armored infantry suffered heavier casualties than leg infantry and were almost always short men.? Squads could be 4-6 men plus a vehicle driver (or less or more).? Several battalions "lost" their 57mm guns and converted the crews to infantry. NOTE: deployment of the AT platoon could be as a unit or one gun could be attached to each infantry platoon.? 1943 TO&E. I checked out slurred I wish they had more variety, they do have a good looking little pack though. Peter pig as well, but it looks like they only have about 6 figures as well. I will get some of these if it comes down to it, I wish someone still carried a couple packs of these battlefront guys. I just need 2 blisters, a pair of platoons would be it.

I realize that they quit making this line of figures but surely they are out there somewhere, does anyone know who is still carrying them? They go by “German Infanterie platoon (greatcoats)”

Re: 6mm IABSM Highway Seven Anzio bridgehead AAR
开云体育Hi Dan, Not a mat. Just an old bedsheet that has been dyed and resprayed with cheap paint. Been using it since the time when no one made game mats. 6mm IABSM Highway Seven Anzio bridgehead AAR
Thought it would be nice to do a game with US troops for Veterans Day (Nov 11), and since I had no US 6mm minis Jon would bring his long hibernating 6mm Americans.? So I stole another scenario off of Rob Avery's Vis Lardica site that would be a simple set up. For variety I wanted a game that was in Italy so the Highway 7 scenario from the Anzio pack looked good.
The action takes place on January 31, 1944 with units of the US 3rd Div trying to expand the Anzio beachead out through the dug in Herman Goering Pz Div. Mark |
Fall East Front CoC game AAR
I wanted to get a game in with some seasonal color, so decided on a WWII East Front CoC game in 15mm. With a nip in the air, I used my Gebrigsjager and the caped Russians. The Mountain troops were rated as Vets and had the extra colored dice (5 and 6s did not count on that dice). Soviets got enough points to dig in and opted for a minefield and light mortar. They also had 3 extra smgs per section-which were an actual detriment for most of the game.

Re: coc unattached leaders in close combat
Actually, would you WANT an autowin? That means they avoid combat, retrreat with a ton of shock which they then automatically dump.

coc unattached leaders in close combat
I know this has been discussed before, but I can't quite remember the conclusions. Isolated leaders when attacked in close combat can seem to put up quite a fight.? Did I read somewhere they are automatically killed? Or was this perhaps done on one of Richard's You tube videos?
