Re: TT4 with Peet Weather Station and APRS map
Is the root question essentially whether you can feed one Port PEET data and receive Data from your radio's audio on the other Port as KISS? It may be a trick question, but it seems to me the answer

Re: TT4 with Peet Weather Station and APRS map
I am not quite following this idea. The TT4 has 2 ports, so you can make 2 connections -> B. Peet Weather You appear to have something setup like this:?? Peet -> Pi (Java) -> TT4 (port B) -> Radio

Re: New TinyTrak Group Member 8000FA Questions.
Steve, Excellent! The MT-8000FA might be over 84 years old ( In dog years...) so it has a right to have some of its joints to get a little crepitus. Keep in mind that the Gate Voltage will also decay

Re: New TinyTrak Group Member 8000FA Questions.
Thank you Allen. I can not tell a lie. I had the meter hooked on to the PCB at the proper points and never saw the voltage change from "0", so yes I was measuring when the mt8k was not transmitting.

Re: New TinyTrak Group Member 8000FA Questions.
Steve, Just to be clear, you are reading the voltage on the gate of the amplifier during the time the device is transmitting? It is normally at zero Volts. If you don't see any voltage on the

New TinyTrak Group Member 8000FA Questions.
Although I can see the aprs packets being received and translated on the Kenwood TMD710GA mounted in the same vehicle as the mt8k, I do not see any packets being posted on aprs.fi no matter how close

Re: TT4, GPS5, home-brew splitter cable Q
"Have you gone through the CALIBRATE and MONITOR setup to get the TT4 configured for the radio you will be using?" Yes. If I connect the TT4 to the PC, TeraTerm displays all the packets the TT4

Re: TT4, GPS5, home-brew splitter cable Q
Almost all APRS clients prefer the TNC (TT4 in this case) to be in KISS mode. I run my TT4 with APRSIS32 all the time.? I set ABAUD 19200 and AMODE KISS (match in APRSIS32) Again, for

Re: TT4, GPS5, home-brew splitter cable Q
I ran into a similar problem with my home brew cable. Make sure you have pins 7 and 8 jumpered (on the DE9 connectors going to the devices, not on the TT4) as many of the interfaces will not work

Re: TT4, GPS5, home-brew splitter cable Q
Good morning, Rob! Thanks for the reply. Sadly, I did not get a schematic with the cable. This was a "I'm not doing APRS any more and so I've stuffed everything that looks even remotely related to

Thank you very much for the excellent link and the callsign comment! :D I will admit to not being the world's best web searcher, so that diagram was eluding me. It's exactly what I was looking for!

Re: TT4, GPS5, home-brew splitter cable Q
You need to figure out how the splitter was mode. Did the person you received the splitter from give you a schematic of how it is connected? There are 3 legs to the splitter: PC????? DE9F where

Re: New TinyTrak Group Member 8000FA Questions.
I used the diagram you speak of just to get the info on the GPS wire colors. You are right - it confused me too. So I re-soldered the GPS wires using the green wire (GPS TX) on pin 2 of the DE9F which
