Re: TT4, GPS5, home-brew splitter cable Q

You need to figure out how the splitter was mode.?
Did the person you received the splitter from give you a schematic of how it is connected?
There are 3 legs to the splitter:
?? PC????? DE9F where Pins 2, 3, and 5 are used for communication
?? GPS?? DE9M where Pins 2, 3, and 5 are used for communication , and pin 4 should have 5V
?? TT4???
???? 2?????? Port A Rx???????????? Should go to Pin 3 of the PC (DE9F)
???? 3?????? Port A Tx????????????? Should go to Pin 2 of the PC (DE9F)
???? 4?????? 5V to GPS??????????? Should go to Pin 2 of the GPS (DE9M)
???? 5?????? Gnd????????????????????? MUST go to both connectors Pin 5
???? 7?????? Port B Tx????????????? No connection or Pin 3 of GPS DE9M
???? 8?????? Port B Rx????????????? Should go to Pin 2 of GPS DE9M

Then you set AMODE to your computer mode (Text, KISS, etc.) and BMODE to GPS.? Set the proper baud rates to match.
You may want to look at GKRelay (if AMODE is KISS) and/or GRELAYBITS (TEXT) to see if the TT4 is relaying the GPS data to the computer.
Set these to Zero until you have this figured out, then you can set as desired.
