Re: Sad news

I'm so sorry for your loss. I do believe in an afterlife and know that there is no pain. I and several other family members have died and come back (still not sure if that's really bad or really good luck) but none of us are scared of it anymore. She can see now, she doesn't feel pain and she will always be in your heart. Holding on to that keeps me going many times.

Interesting thought. Never considered it that way, but you make a point that him giving his bones without thinking about it could constitute "...unknowingly given"

Get

While reading a story, couldn't help wondering if Peter unintentionally claimed to be Moldy's father

I was reading "Harry Potter and the Rune Stone Path" and when got to the section where Wormtail was going through the ritual to bring Moldywart back a wierd thought occurred to me because of the fact that Wormtail gave him both flesh and bone.

The first part of the ritual: "Bone of the father unknowingly given, you will renew your son!" and I think Peter forgot he was giving him some of his bone when he sliced off his entire hand and let it drop in the big cauldron so he technically unknowingly gave him some of his bone.

The second line: "Flesh of the servant willingly given you will revive your master" mean all Wormtail really had to do was slice off a piece of skin, not an entire body part.

After I read it, I couldn't help wondering if Wormtail made himself unknowingly a father for Moldy and that might've been at least partly responsible for giving Moldy such a weird looking body. It also may have been something that helped keep Wormtail alive, because if Moldy killed him, then he was telling the magic that created his new body he was rejecting the bone of his father, even if the bone that was added was a mistake and the person who gave it was technically was a servant/minion.

Curious to see what you think

Re: LFS- amoral/evil Harry - FOUND!

That's exactly why I went overboard on the notes :)

Personally, I put the darkness and vengeance brutality on par with RobSt's In this World and the Next, so I personally don't think it's that bad. Especially with the wacky humor in it. But I know others' scales are different, so I gave the notes as warnings. I've clicked into too many fics that had a G-rated summary which turned into gore-fests that should have been rated NC-99 or XXXXX

Re: LFS- amoral/evil Harry - FOUND!

Hmm, I don't mind some dark elements but that story has way too many! Generally, I read for escapism and this would be way too depressing.

Thanks for your mini-review but I think I'll pass.
