Position Archaeological Monitors and field technicians for Ongoing Project Work in Eastern TN (Greeneville vicinity) Project Description and Schedule UES is hiring several archaeological monitors and field technicians to help conduct ongoing monitoring and survey efforts in eastern Tennessee (in the general vicinity of Greeneville). We have project-specific work opportunities that will develop into career-trajectory placement for the right person. The monitoring and phase I survey is a large and ongoing effort, with crews already in the field and project work expected to continue for several weeks at least. Compensation The hourly wage for this project will be between $28 and $35, commensurate with experience, attitude, and ability to commit to longer-term sessions. UES’ preference is for a field tech local to Eastern TN but will consider applications from non-local techs. For non-local techs, UES will pay for drive time and accommodation near the project area, along with $68 per diem and a $10 weekly cell phone stipend. UES. Seasonal Field Technicians needed for work in Great Plains and Wyoming
The Rocky Mountain Divisional office of Cultural Resource Analysts, Inc. is seeking seasonal field technicians for multiple inventory projects primarily in Colorado, Montana, Nebraska, and Wyoming. Fieldwork is expected to last for several weeks beginning in May. A bachelor’s degree or higher and demonstrated Class III inventory experience are desirable. All candidates must be able to hike with a field pack 8-10 miles a day over steep uneven terrain and be able to excavate periodic shovel tests. Fieldwork will frequently be conducted at elevations exceeding 5,000 ft. The ideal candidate will have experience working on renewable energy development projects and be able to work independently. They will also have experience with and be familiar with operating ESRI Fieldmaps, basic digital cameras and data collection tablets. NAGPRA Coordinator: Banning, CA Part-time Pay: $35.45 per hour Apply at: https://morongonation.org/employment/ Morongo Band of Mission Indians is seeking a dynamic professional The NAGPRA Coordinator responsible for overseeing repatriation efforts relating to the Federal Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA- 25 U.S.C. §§ 3001-13) and its accompanying regulations (43 C.F.R. §§ I0.1-.17) as well as relevant State legislation including CalNAGPRA (AB978) and its amendments (i.e., AB275, AB389). They will lead the Morongo NAGPRA committee and must remain engaged during each step of the repatriation process, always remaining committed to the current repatriation goals of the Morongo Band of Mission Indians. Furthermore, the NAGPRA Coordinator will strive to present informational reports and documentation that will enable informed decision-making regarding repatriation efforts for both the Morongo NAGPRA Committee and Morongo Tribal Council. Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Law, Anthropology, Museum Studies, Native American Studies, or related field; Master’s Degree preferred A minimum of 3 years of professional experience demonstrating knowledge and understanding of procedures and compliance with the Federal Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA- 25 U.S.C. §§ 3001-13) and its accompanying regulations (43 C.F.R. §§ I0.1-.17) as well as relevant State legislation including CalNAGPRA (AB978) and its amendments (i.e., AB275, AB389). Strong comprehension of NAGPRA associated documentation Experience working with culturally significant materials; experience in processing and cataloguing culturally significant materials preferred Knowledge of Southern California Tribal history, culture, and lifeways for both Federally and Non-Federally recognized Tribes An “all hands-on deck” mentality Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of classified/sensitive information.
