So the same question goes for George Gallup. I need an insurance survey in the fall. He did that for me on Mt Desert in 2020 as well as the pre purchase in 2015.? I’m not getting an answer to email or phone but he appears to still be operating, albeit under a different company name.? His reports are extremely thorough & he knows Sabres.?

Agustin,
If I am seeing the photo correctly, the bolt in question looks like it's just a connector for two grounds, i.e. the black wires. ?It sits right in front of and in the channel for a weep hole, so the water will always accumulate in that low channel from somewhere else. ?Where, I cannot say.

The haulout nearest to Montego Bay is 100 miles east. In the Caribbean, that means straight into the wind all the way and that means motoring for 24hrs. Once I get there (Port Antonio) there will be a travel lift and chocks, but no services, no labor, and no parts. I'm trying very hard to plan something workable and the sooner I can get out of here safely, the better life will be!

I converted our 1988 S36 to propane, the 6 pound tanks fit the locker and the vertical tanks work without a problem in the near-vertical locker.?

Sorry I didn’t answer completely… the rest was in my head! ? It is a ground for something. Possibly a ground system, a lightning bond, an SSB, refrigeration etc.

Augustine, that is a ground. ?Your packing gland should not be green. ?I suspect that is a big source of leakage. It looks like you have had standing water there for a while. ?You should take a bronze brush to the packing gland and clean it up and make sure it isn’t leaking.

Jeff, vertical stored vertically.? On the Targas the CNG locker was configured differently.? They're in the aft/port locker, in a near vertical configuration.

I did the conversion to propane last year. I now have two 6# aluminum cylinders in the locker. The only modification to the locker was a ventilated false bottom. These cylinders are shorter, so the false bottom makes them easier to reach. It also keeps them from sitting in a pool of water that sometimes collects at the bottom of the locker.

Is the area on the other side of the weep hole, aft of the bolt in your picture, dry? If not, the water may be coming from someplace farther aft.?
You would have to look on the outside to see what is attached to the other end of the bolt. It might be a zinc or a ground plate.?
Be ready to stop a much faster leak if you try to tighten it, in case it crumbles away or breaks?off.

The 34 after-cabin has a vertical locker. Thus, they are vertical tanks. It made that part of the conversion process easier.

Thanks to all. The water is salt. The bilge has several compartments. The forward ones generally don't get water until the one below the engine reaches a certain level. This tells me it's not any of the forward keel bolts since the engine compartments fills first. However, there are some bolts there so those might be a source, but there is also water aft of the engine, aft of the drive shaft stuffing box, and aft of the racor filter. I'm trying to make my way back there.
There has not been any rain here since I wiped the bilge 100% dry last week. I saw puddling around the mast once last year after a heavy rain, but a waterproof wrap around mast boot seems to have corrected that. I drained my water tanks for cleaning during these past few days, so I doubt it's a leaky tank issue, but I'm not dismissing that such an problem might exist to be checked later. Once I resolve the seawater leak I will use water pressure to test the tanks.
I also don't think it's a fuel tank leak because I'm not detecting and diesel and such a large amount would be obvious. I am now standing in the aft cabin and as I work my way further aft I will be lifting the bunk boards to look at AirCon connections, watermaker connections, then scupper connections and rudder stuffing box. Would there be anything else back there to check?
