Also, on our 426 we saw small leaking from the bolts that hold the swim ladder on. ?And yes it required serious boat yoga to repair.

Thank you. There's water weeping in from further aft. It looks like the channel hole(s) is at the boat's center-line and is far back enough that I can only imagine it is from scupper connections or rudder post. It's difficult to follow it any farther from the aft cabin so I will be going into the lazeret at the stern to see what's up. Removing that large cowl around the rudder post to have a look will not be fun.
I'm going to clean up the packing gland and, yes, it is leaking. Repacking is one of the things I'm going to work on. For a 1.25 inch shaft on a Sabre 425 with a W46, would I use 1/4 inch packing?

The haulout nearest to Montego Bay is 100 miles east. In the Caribbean, that means straight into the wind all the way and that means motoring for 24hrs. Once I get there (Port Antonio) there will be a travel lift and chocks, but no services, no labor, and no parts. I'm trying very hard to plan something workable and the sooner I can get out of here safely, the better life will be!

Thank you for all your help, everyone. It's appreciated and good to know I'm not fully alone with these problems.
