The kits are from Larry Jackman's S Scale America, prior to Des Plaines' ownership. Microscale did do S scale decals.

I seem to recall that Mr Jackman sold individual unit kits and also three-unit kits.? The latter were intended to be assembled drawbar-connected.? The three wells then would technically be one car for switching and accounting purposes.? The 3-well assemble would have one car number.? This was no doubt based on some?prototype practice, but it obviously never became popular.? I suspect most if not all of these 3-unit cars were separated and?given proper couplers and individual numbers.

Like Bill Lane, I am surprised your coupler height came out correct.? I had that coupler height problem with the RTR cars and solved it with 28 inch wheels from AM.
?
Good luck with finding or making containers.? It seems the?Larry Jackman container kits made containers?a ?little short to avoid interference with truck wheels, especially high-rail wheels. ?
?
When you get your containers going, don't put a 20 footer on top of anything else.? The 40-foot and longer containers have no support at?their center for anything else above them.
