Re: Neil & CH in R & R hall of fame?

David Magda

Hello All.

This is very similar to the situation with Bruce
Springsteen's E Street Band. Why in the world are they
not in? It seems that the HOF looks at the first name
only when the artist is also a solo artist and the
lead name of the group. One of the proposed solutions
that they should consider is to have a 'backing' band'
category.

Peace, david ... hiding behind hay bales (but a bit
more visible recently).

Re: If it wasn't for bad luck.............

Mark Georg

It's not all bad luck... In the spring of '83 I was living in San Diego,
called in to KGB and won tickets to see Sammy Hagar, with Night Ranger
opening, at the LA Forum. That was when "I can't drive 55" was still a
favorite of mine, along with 3 Lock Box. No limo, just a busload of other
winners, and my 8 month pregnant wife. My kid's a rocker. Shoulda took him
to see Neil in vitro though (hope I used that term correctly), he didn't get
that gene.

Also, a few years later KGB was giving a way a couple Toyota 4x4's. My wife
called in and won a key to try to start one of them, didn't fit though.

Once though, I was trying to be the "nth" caller and in my haste dialed up
the wrong station. I didn't realize my mistake til the dj answered and I got
a little flustered. Me, in a stupid voice: "Uh...could you play some
Hendrix?" I was "that guy".

I feel your pain. I once called in to win tickets to see the Stones in
Atlantic city, plus a limo ride to and from the show, a room at the
Trump Plaza, and a wad of spending money. You had to be caller 106. I
was driving when the song came on, so I pulled over and called from a
pay phone. Ten minutes of manually dialing the number and I got through
only to find out I was caller 105. It still hurts.

November 21 1986 VCD weed for Euro rusties

Hi everyone.

I recieved from Aad (thanks again, Aad!) the show from 21. Nov. 1986 VCD recently treed and promised to offer it back as a weed.
(It wasn't easy to copy this fine show, 'cause of my neolitic burner, but that's another story...)
So here is my offer to the list to Euro rusties:

I'll do 2 copies free to real timers
I'll do 2 copies free to digesters, please include the digest number

All you have to do is to promise to offer at least 2 copies back for free.

I'll only notify the successful rusties.

Take care

Johannes

Favorite Neil Lyrics

Brad Babb

Because they change from day to day, it is almost impossible to list
my five favorite Neil albums, or even twelve favorite songs. Here are
five lyrics from songs that really "get" me everytime I hear them:

1. Got fuel to burn, got roads to drive

2. Talkin' bout you and me Talkin' bout eternity
Talkin' bout the big time

3. Angel without wings, Owner without things,
Sharpshooter without rings around you.

4. The motel of lost companions Waits with
heated pool and bar

5. Well, it's so good to be here, asleep on your lawn.
Remember your guard dog? Well, I'm afraid that
he's gone

Re: Big A$$ Billboards

Don't know about other places but here in Boston
a billboard can cost between 2 - 15 thousand bucks
per month, depending on location.

Did anyone notice that the anti Neil is playing right after CSNY
at several venues ??

03-22-1985 Performance Question . . . Also aburner question - Roxio

David Magda

Hello All.

03-22-1985, Entertainment Hall, Sydney, New South
Wales, Australia w/ The International Harvesters And
Crazy Horse > > > Nils Lofgren and Bruce Springsteen
show up to jam with Neil.<
This sounds like big fun, is there a clean copy of
this show out there? Not a grovel at the moment but it
will be on my list of future shows to trade for.

Also, i installed my first burner last evening, a
Plextor, but i didn't realize that i needed to change
the CD-ROM to slave since i have both on the same IDE
cable so i'll do that after work today, or tomorrow.
Hopefully i can get it up and running. I want to be
able to burn so bad.

One more question. I got a new computer at work
yesterday and it has a burner with Roxio. Is Roxio any
good?

Thanks. Peace, david ... hiding behind hay bales.

Jim, Here is a link to the Dylan show. It is through the
www.dylantree.com page but I think you can go to the art directly with
these links. If you have trouble let me know and I'll send you the jpgs.

Re: nyas

Rob Hogendoorn

Hey there,

Like Ian, I just joined NYAS (www.nyas.org.uk.) and like him I had no conception at all of what "Broke Arrow" would be like. Today I received my first copy (issue 85) and I'm very impressed: utterly worth reading and utterly recommendable! I should have done this years ago... (True, at the time there was the hassle of sending pounds etc, but these days Euro-rusties can send euro's instead.) Don't delay, join today!!!

Wow, that's really weird. I tried for the same contest. Dialed the number
once and WAS caller 106!

Had a great time!!! <G>

Re: 11-22-76

Rick and Keith (and Patrick Moraz) would be playing both simultaneously --
one with each hand [and perhaps a foot as far as Keith is concerned] ;-)
i've had the good fortune to see all three of these keyboardist.....does
Wakeman still play barefoot? does he still wear a cape??? been years since
i've seen him. he certainly is one of, if not the best, keyboardist i've
ever seen.
