A true Texan!!!!I am sure Jack, Charlie, David Adams, Stephen, Rodney, even
mira can appreciate the Tom Landry reverence. Thanks for the Tom moment
this morning, Cathy.

Harvest Poll

Just have to pipe in here, Harvest is the most difficult album for me to
pick just one song from...if you only knew the impact this album, 'specially
HOG, had on my life, seems like that's when it all started to happen...that
Neil deal...early spring of '72, 8th grade, riding the bus home with that
harmonica and D-28 playin over the AM radio, that cute neighbor girl who
never seemed to notice (found out later she did, really,) skidding on the
frozen grass with leather soled shoes, waiting for the next fad, from
yo-yo's to bell bottoms, dawn of something beautiful...

later, folks...tj went walkin'

Well, AYP? deserves very high ratings. That's for sure! I've been
playing it constantly and never get tired of it. Things are busy here
around the Old Homestead (eg. I've switched to fast-speed cable for
my internet service and I'm working up a new email account with Shaw
Cable. I'm hoping that Gus or his son will visit and help me with the
finishing touches. My new email addy will be <twobase@...>.
Actually, it already is, it's just that I haven't figured out how to
get into the email site yet ;>)
Good old <twobase@netidea> will soon be history but I'll keep
<spookedhorse@rocketmail> as a backup.
Yep, I've been listenin' to Neil (mostly AYP?) and Emmylou Harris
almost exclusively and sometimes I think it's the only thing that's
keeping me half-sane. They started letting the hockey rink melt
today, as our Smokeaters got eliminated from the playoffs.
It's so great to read about y'all making plans for the rustfests and
all.

Big A$$ Billboards - how much?

Cathy Harris

I pass by one of those CSNY Tour of America signs coming down the Tom Landry
(respectful pause) highway between Big D and FW on my way home. It's been up
a while now but I just noticed today that Clear Channel owns the sign. I
wonder how much the promotion company pays the sign company.

Also pass big a$$ billboards for the Tribute to Heros CD and for Stevie Ray
Vaughn memorial show. It's a scenic drive.

Milwaukee grovel and Top 5...

Rusties!

I'm sure there are copies of the Milwaukee CSNY2K2 show floating around in Rustland somewhere...I'd love to get my hands on one. :O)

The thought of picking 12 top Neil songs out his *vast* repetoire seems utterly impossible to me. Kudos to those who accomplished this feat! I will attempt the Top 5 Albums poll, however... It's relatively boring and predictable. ;O)

(This is in no particular order.)

On the Beach
Ragged Glory (best driving album ever???)
Zuma
Tonight's the Night
EKTIN...no, YOTH. Okay, EKTIN.

But YOTH is an honorable mention just because it has a great version of "Slip Away" on it, which may just be my favorite Neil song ever...

I also will join with the others who defended Broken Arrow. I quite enjoy this album...although I can't say I'm fond of *this* version of SA.

Re: silly Boot booklets

Hi
the best of the bestest, IMHO, is the "River of Pride" 2CD set
[ the Joel bernstein tape]

though the tracks are written correctly on the back sleeve, the names of the
25 songs written on the CDs are as follows:

Company
Old taste
Human being
tell me again
afternoon
my heart
Mr Browne
here we go
though the past
heart of the sun
need a maid
white river
give me a chance
to die
on my mind
it's too late
the needle
poison
another country
goodBye
love is power
mountainside

BONUS Tracks.
the fall
union rocker
war dance

[ do i get a medal for writing these out ]
it states....... "not for sale, promotional only", but that's just the
bootleggers trying to make it sound "semi official"
it took me 4 years to find this copy and cost me ?25//$35 to buy.
and i'm quite proud of owning it.
these days of course, we all make free cdr copies and shoot the bootleggers
;-)

rocking on though the weekend

Rust Poll for "Harvest"

Charlie Macon

I tell ya, these polls are interesting in that you go
to the site, look at those songs, and the beauty of
each and every one of them jumps right out at you. I
have a very hard time putting into words how beautiful
these songs are to me. "Old Man" comes from way up
there, and Neil brought it to us. You just cannot get
any better than that song. I'm not at all trying to
sway votes.....this album is loaded with some of the
best examples that we humans have of music.....great
album!

Take care, Charlie

I received a copy of Richard Thompson's fantastic show at the Getty Museum
in LA from 10/01. It's RT covering 1000 years of popular music, from Olde
English ballads, through to Prince and beyond. A great show. I am looking
for RT shows from 2002. If you have any, and are interested in trading,
please contact me.

Thanks,
Terry G.

AYP Vinyl.

Just tried today to order the thing through a local record store.
They said they might not be able to get a hold of it because it would
have to come from Germany. I've heard people talk about odering on
list from somewhere. Can any one send me a list of place to order from?

Thanks in Advance,

If I would have known they couldn't get a hold of it locally

Postal Rates Set for Summer Increase
Damn oil companies! They'll drive all delivery service prices up.
I'm paying 25 friggin cents more a gallon than I was a couple of weeks ago. That's a nearly 25% increase. Oh, I forgot about my car insurance, too. It's up. The there is the increase in medical bills. Groceries and fashion clothes, too.
Oh, my. When is it going to end?

Why don't they all announce their price increase months in advance?

Isn't there something more important to whine about?

Like the archives? :)
