TNC-X setup
#hardware
#tnc
I pulled out a couple of old ChipWorks TNC-X's and would like to set both of them on my Pi3. The lights blink off an on when powered up, but I would like to do a fresh install to get them running.

Re: Gpredict cannot connect to Yaesu FT817
Trying to get gpredict and wsjtx to work together. Using the rigctl command above (with a different port # and baud rate) seems to work fine in gpredict. I had read that for rigctl to be used by WSJTX

Re: Gpredict cannot connect to Yaesu FT817
Using N3RDR¡¯s rigctl line, on my rpi 4 and version it¡¯s device 1020 and I have a baud rate of 4800, it worked great.
Followup question: I¡¯m trying to use gpredict to track sat frequencies, but

Re: 64-bit OS
Yep, that¡¯s the whole idea behind having a different card. If I¡¯m in need of the Pi, and a program is only available 32 bit, I¡¯ll still have it easily. This is more just exploratory, and like

Re: 64-bit OS
Since you have a 8GB Rpi4, you have plenty of RAM so that won't be an issue. The decision then really comes down to the software that you use. There is still more 32bit amateur radio software out

Re: 64-bit OS
Thanks. I haven¡¯t kept up on that project since I typically roll my own, and wasn¡¯t aware he¡¯s got a 64 bit distro. But that¡¯s a great starting point, if he¡¯s gotten it to run, that means I

Amen!
Allowing ALL protocols in and out is an almost unimaginably dangerous practice.

Re: 64-bit OS
Check out Ham-Pi. Dave Slotter has a 64 bit version with just about every program available compiled as 64 bit in his image.

64-bit OS
Hey gang, I¡¯ve got another SD card on order to play around with the 64-bit Rasbian OS. It looks like most of the programs I use can compile for 64-bit. Has anyone tried it? Any pitfalls to worry

Re: Unable to reach my Flex radio via my raspberry pi 4B and Tailscale via my network. Wi-Fi connection is fine
That is NOT a good practice.
I see MANY attempts per day trying to hack on my internal devices that aren't detected and stopped by the router firewall.? And I have it set to high security.

Re: Unable to reach my Flex radio via my raspberry pi 4B and Tailscale via my network. Wi-Fi connection is fine
One thing I do for home based networks id to configure Windows Firewall to
ACCEPT all protocols IN and OUT. Since the LAN is protected by the router,
there is little danger of hacking that could occur

Also, make sure the Win11 machines have Network Discovery turned ON.
Although it should retain the previous setting, it may have assumed your
LAN is not the same one it used to be.

Re: Unable to reach my Flex radio via my raspberry pi 4B and Tailscale via my network. Wi-Fi connection is fine
Try resetting your home router so it has the opportunity to rebuild its
routing table.
You may, just as a good practice, restart all your other home or LAN
devices at the same time if possible.

Re: Unable to reach my Flex radio via my raspberry pi 4B and Tailscale via my network. Wi-Fi connection is fine
Don't ask me about windows 11... My favorite machine is still running Windows 7, all though I do have 2 windows 10's -one dedicated for ham radio and every time I go digital with it, I have to reload
