Since you have a 8GB Rpi4, you have plenty of RAM so that won't be
an issue.? The decision then really comes down to
the software that you use.? There is still more 32bit amateur
radio software out there than 64bit but most of the modern
programs now work as the developers have ensured their programs
compile for both 32 and 64bit as well work on ARM.? I say you give
it a try and see what you think but I would also advise that for
older Raspberry Pi boards with 1GB of RAM (or less) like a 3B+,
etc.. stick with the 32bit OS.

Hey gang, I¡¯ve got another SD card on order to play around with the 64-bit Rasbian OS. It looks like most of the programs I use can compile for 64-bit. Has anyone tried it? Any pitfalls to worry about? I have a Pi 4 with 8 GB RAM. I¡¯m not looking at it being faster, this is mostly just for experimentation.
Thanks,
Dan
