Re: R1CBU and digital modes

Had not run R1CBU with FLrig. Tried both R1CBU 0.17 and 0.19 with FLrig 1.4.7 with same results. FLrig to talk to X6100 using FLrig's X5105 driver. best with the Xiegu fw In addition, FLrig would change some X6100 settings (VFO & its freq), but not read any X6100 values.

Must be a R1CBU CAT handling bug, as FLrig 1.47 works pretty well with the X6100 using Xiegu fw, especially with FLrig's IC705 which has more functionality than its X6100 driver.

Thanks WF5W - was struggling with JS8.

Re: R1CBU and digital modes

Ok. Update.

It does work.

Flrig somehow won't talk to it. But if I use hamlib DIRECTLY, it all works.

$ rigctld -m 3087 -r /dev/ttyACM1 -s 19200 -C stopbits=1 &

and set all my digital modes to use hamlib

So I booted up the default rig, and changed wsjtx to use IC-705 and set it up for CAT control. It worked flawlessly (via ttyACM1). So, I knew that everything was working.

I rebooted into R1CBU v19. And I didn't use flrig either. So all I was using was the hamlib part of wsjtx. Same IC-705, same CAT control parameters. Nothing. So, I can only come up with the conclusion, that R1CBU doesn't work with digital modes.

Too bad, I wanted it to, so bad. I like the interface.

Re: R1CBU and digital modes

I've been using it for all digital modes with my Surface and it works flawlessly. The only time it acts up is when the battery is low.

This firmware is light years ahead of the stock.

Good luck!

Re: R1CBU and digital modes

Ok. Not clean but I got both ft8 and js8 to work.
Flrig would not work in any case.

FT8 works with newest version of hamlib
JS8 only works with command line rigctld

v19 no CAT control problems

My cat control no longer works with v19 R1CBU.
I am running on linux mint:

My radio is at latest firmware revision (from Radioddity - the one that says "fix Cat")

1. I boot up as default x6100

dmesg says ttyACM0 and ttyACM1. I know that ttyACM1 is the cat control.

I go into flrig, and set my transceiver to ttyACM1 and 19200. Good to go. PTT works and CAT control works just fine.

I reboot after putting in v19 of R1CBU, go into flrig, and choose ttyACM1 and 19200. Nothing works, no matter how many times I try it. And I've tried 9600, 38400, and 115200. Nothing.

I boot back into default. Good to go.

Anyone have any ideas?

Re: ACC Control Problems

Please close this issue. It was a ground loop problem. Pesky things those grounds! Gotta connect them in the proper places. Still not sure why RICBU firmware was more susceptible.

Re: v19 Feedback problem

I too had the same problem with my x6100.

v19 Feedback problem

Hi there!? I found that with the voice announcement turned on it develops loud feedback loop through the microphone.? I tried turning down all the other volume and gains to eliminate it but nothing works.? If I plug in a headset, or unplug the microphone will disable the feedback.? Not sure why the speaker/microphone is in feedback with the audio announcement.? Interesting problem

Re: ACC Control Problems

Are there any ACC menu items I might be missing? It's odd that it works with stock but fluctuates when using R1CBU, so I think I'm missing something like a setting somewhere.

I used the same setup yesterday with no issues. ?RICBU V19, X6100, XPA125B, in auto mode. Had several contacts.

The radio does not do 2m 70cm without a Transverter unit connected, and I told him when I had seen the video that he was overloading his front end of the radio,

Update: Don't think this had anything to do with R1CBU software. I stumbled on a message somewhere where somebody having a similar problem had placed separate power supplies on the X6100 and the XPA125B and it solved the problem. I did the same, and sure enough problem solved - I assume it was some sort of ground loop.?

Hi
It says Transverter,?
That is because you need a Transverter for the radio to do VHF/uhf,

new feature request? more visibility to mode

Got the latest v0.18. Works great, AFAICT.

Is this a place where I can make a request for the software group that does this?

If so, then let me explain as to what I really need.

I use the x6100 (R1CBU software) exclusively to do POTA activations. When I am under a pavilion or a nice big shade tree, I have no problems. When I am in the direct sunlight, I can barely see the screen. I can kinda see the waterfall, and see what frequency I am on, but I can't see anything else at all.

I start my activation doing FT8 so I am in usb-data mode. I like to get my 10-15 contacts there, and then switch to phone (usb mode). Also sometimes I like to do 40m, and likewise I can't see if I am in LSB mode.

So what I would really like is the mode to be right along side (or above, or below) the frequency at the SAME font (or bigger!). So I can do the switch.

I hope, I made myself clear. This 75 year old guy with minor cataract problems has a hard time sometimes.

Thanks for your time, and patience!
