QDX-M LPF Question
Gents,
I am building a QDX-M for a ham and ran into a snag.
L4 and L10 have changed in the build from the black T37-10's to a Yellow mix but the build guild has not been updated. Does anyone know what

Re: QMX+ The short life of my new QMX+
I got the two power modules and installed them. Power on and nothing happened. Clicking the power button on switches the 12V rail on, but when released the 12V goes off. (I run the QMX at 9V with a

PuTTY issue on Diagnostics screen
All,
When I built my QMX+ 4 weeks ago or so, I tested and aligned it using PuTTY and intended to return to tweak filters and such later.? Now is that time.
I ran the PuTTY diagnostics screen and it

Thanks Stan,
I was on the TX diagnostic page.? I don't think that I was transmitting at the time. The use of the terminal at the time of failure may be a coincidence.
I have measured the voltage on

Re: QMX SMD assembly defect
Curious, had the same solder bridge on the chip also. Good job, wouldn't have a guess what would have made smoke if not corrected.

Re: QMX SMD assembly defect
I had bad soldering in 3.3 SMPS modul. There was a connection between the diode and the transistor.

Re: Product conformity certificate(type approval certificate)
That's a good idea. I've reached out to the person and hope to hear back
from them about kit/QRP radios and exceptions. If not, I will modify the
application to state using a commercial

Re: Product conformity certificate(type approval certificate)
Perhaps taking a commercial HT, and giving the FCC compliance certificate
for that radio would suffice the needs of the application.

Thanks Tisha. Appreciate the insight.
The communication from the department did not have any more specifics that
they asked for. (In their not-so-formal looking application form).
My sense is that

Interesting.? I have disconnected power multiple times with the USB attached to the computer without any issues.
Did you have TX on in diagnostics when you pulled the power?? That could have caused

Mike,
Good thought on the filter selection though I have already tried all of of the widths, all of them seem to have an unexpected amount of (apparent) reduction in SNR, regardless of the moving the

IMHO,
Getting product compliance (conformity) may not happen. There are at least a dozen different regulatory bodies across the world that require different technical and testing standards to earn a

Re: QMX CW mode signal level lower than digi mode?
One more thought: have you changed from the default 700Hz CW sidetone?
If you did, did you also make sure the CW center and CW offset changed to match, and that you selected a filter that supports the

Hi,
I successfully built and revived QMX. It was a fun to build it and I really like the radio. Unfortunately, my PCB board came with an assembly defect. It had a solder bridge on the CPU at at least

Re: Easy removal of broken BNC jack on QCX-mini
Yes it¡¯s an option ..
The trouble with ChipQwik is it¡¯s just very low temperature solder. It forms an ugly soft alloy with the original solder and allows the joints to be kept molten longer

I¡¯m right there with you all. My journey from Technician to General was through a QDX-M for 10 M on an EFHW. My recently built QMX+ helped me take it all up a level. Thanks to an excellent product

Glad you succeeded!
I wonder if ChipKwik could work for those who may not have a high wattage iron.
