I have been calling a net twice a week using AClog, but just discoverer Net mode. Ran some testing and it would be very useful except that it does not log "time off if blank" like the main screen does. Is there anyway to make it do so? TOM WA4GIM

I've spent some time going through the N3FJPSoftwareUsers threads and can't easily find how to have an FT8 contact that was made using WSJT-X (with a Yaesu FT-710) log automatically in ACLog. Can you help? Thanks in advance and 73, Ken KN2D

I have ACLog set to auto fill the comments field with the contact's name and address. If I double click a previous entry and select the 'Edit' button to change the entry info, I can change every field except the Comments. I can add text to the first line of the comment, but I can't add additional lines to the comment, and as soon as I hit the enter key the window closes. It behaves pretty much the same if I try to add more comments on a new entry. AM I doing something wrong? Or is editing the Comments field no suppported? Tnx, Rick

Is there a setting for having N3FJP software (any of the contests and AC LOG) to send band data to an antenna switch for automatic control? The WA4MCM switches use UDP packets sent form software programs to determine which antenna is selected. Is this possible with the software packages?? It only needs to send the data, not receive. Hi Scott, I have been using the suite of N3FJP logging tools for around three years and I really like using it for my contest logging during and the log submission after the event. Having these available has been a huge help that I wont use anything else. I do have a feature request for the sub programs such as the 7QP, VHF, ARRL International Digital, 10M, etc that appears only in ACLog. This week I was shown a demonstration in ACLog that permits the customization of the fields displayed and order shown on forms. The functions under settings I was interested in using in other logging programs that seem to be in just ACLog are: Edit Fields Displayed, Position,and Tab Order Other Field Titles, and Fill Behavior… I bring these two customization functions up as useful inside the other logging programs such as VHF because I feel it would be good to have the option to display the frequency of the contact on the form as the contact is being made. Currently, the VHF contest form has the frequency field in the contact details, but that can only be filled in post-contact, and not easy at scale to determine whichever QSOs have a entry value of the frequency or not. Would you consider adding the settings functions (above) to future editions of VHF etc logging programs in the future so if a user wishes to fill in a field like Other, Frequency, County, they have the option to do so at the time so they may reduce post contact ‘clean up’/reconcilliation? I greatly appreciate the value of the ACLog and all the other logging program in the N3FJP Suite of logging programs and I will continue to use them in my contest activities long into the future. Hello Scott, and once again thank you for your software! I’ve been using it for over four years, I think, and I swear by it. Yes, I’ve evaluated others, and none seem to work as well. Every time I use ACL it’s like putting on an old comfortable sweater. I sincerely mean those words. Like an old sweater, sometimes it needs a little patch here or there. This brings me to request a couple of patches that may be generally useful. Afterall, software wise, if it is no longer being updated it is probably obsolete. REQUEST # 1 Situation: When entering a new QSO, before hitting enter, my option of enabling QRZ lookup automatically fills in several fields as part of the data that will be entered into the log. With the World Map enabled you see where the person is located. This is a wonderful thing. With the wild increase in the POTA program, and in FD operations, along with state QSO parties, the location pulled from QRZ may not reflect where the person is located. This is the reason the grid is updated to reflect a more accurate location. In doing so, the mileage and bearing should also be updated. Would you patch your system to update the World Map to reflect the location updated in the grid field? Doing so would give a much better idea to the user that a person from NY is actually operating in AZ, with a much better estimate of mileage as well. I am from CA so there would be a difference of a couple of thousand miles in distance. In addition, as a stretch, updating the county would be a bonus. As you may know, some awards are based on distance, counties, and states. REQUEST #2 Situation: The frequency field, as presented on the screen, shows the frequency in MHz (MM.XXXXX). Considering that ACL, and all of your other logs do the same, it is generally not reflective of the formatting shown on many radios, especially in operators’ shack. Would you update the formatting of the field to show the frequency in the following format: MM.KKK.HHH? Yaesu, for example, displays the frequency in that format, and Icom uses MM.KKK.HH. In all the time I’ve used ACL, I’ve often wished for this simple visual match. Of course, this would imply an option to show 6 digits passed the decimal point, just one more than ACL allows as an option. REQUEST #3 Situation: Many times, in using the search menu, I find myself not able to do negation in my search. For example, I may want to see all my EU contacts except for those in Germany. If that ability is there, I have not found it. Would you patch the search such that negative filter can be applied in conjunction with other filtering criteria? Maybe, a different screen could be designed for entry of a free-form sql-like where clause to extract a more specific result. In this manner entering a NOT operator can simplify an exception to a filter when a user has a search criterion as in the situation above. REQUEST #4 Situation: You previously patched ALC, and other logs, to reflect a user designated ALL-CAPS only format in OTHER fields. On the main form, this works quite well, and thank you for that. This formatting, however, is not enforced in the EDIT CONTACT screen. Would you please apply the user option of ALL-CAPS in the EDIT CONTACT screen for all the fields the user has so identified? SOLVED!! In Connection Power, it was set on RTS, going to None... fixed it. Thanks Scott. Before when I was clicking on Rig Interface, the screen would flash like it was trying to open the Rig Interface sub-screen, but it wasn't visible. With this new version of Win 11 (that I just started using), it was actually opening Rig Interface but putting it in one of the "mini" screens which were "hidden". I just learned something new about Win 11. I looked for the Rig Interface screen a bit harder. Scott, Thanks for all you do for the ham community. -- John - WX6G

A couple of problems. 1) Immediately on opening ACL 7.0.11 it puts K4 into transmit mode. Closing ACL releases transmit. 2) Can't access the Rig Interface menu from the Settings menu (with K4 turned off) 3) Tried removing ACL (First exported Whole log to ADIF file, Uninstalled via Programs and Features), and then Re-installing ACL 7.0.11 and still can't access Rig Interface (with K4 turned off) 4) With rig turned on, opening ACL immediately puts K4 into transmit mode 5) Is there an INI file that may be corrupted that needs to be rebuilt? Name of INI file? 6) My thoughts are something has been corrupted in the ACL file, but need help on the next steps to proceed. As a side note, this was functioning at one time on this machine. We had a power failure and the next day this issue arose. HOWEVER, at the time of the power failure the computer was in SLEEP mode behind an APC Battery UPS unit. I shut the computer down while it was still running on Battery from the UPS.... I know this power failure would likely be highly suspect as the cause, but I don't see any other programs effected. CPU is AMD Ryzen 7 Windows 11 Pro ver 24H2, OS build 26100.3775 Thanks anyone for suggestion.. -- John - WX6G

Perhaps this is obvious, but my questions is are the various contest versions of ACLog full stand alone versions that have to be installed and configured anew. In other words by having loggers for multiple contests one has multiple separate logging programs as opposed to configurations of one logging program for various contests? Thank you. Ed K1VP

Perhaps this has been discussed but my searching doesn't answer this puzzle. I created a new, empty database and imported a "DXCC_QSLs" adif from LOTW to it. Selecting "Awards", only no mode and no band or CW give me correct totals. I'm mystified. I will confess, I have not tried to use ACL for anything but logging contacts and exporting to another program for awards tracking, QSL printing, etc, but this is messy and I would like to settle on one program.
