Edit fields/ Forms functionality within VHF, International Digital, etc logging

Hi Scott,
I have been using the suite of N3FJP logging tools for around three years and I really like using it for my contest logging during and the log submission after the event. Having these available has been a huge help that I wont use anything else. I do have a feature request for the sub programs such as the 7QP, VHF, ARRL International Digital, 10M, etc that appears only in ACLog.?
?
This week I was shown a demonstration in ACLog that permits the customization of the fields displayed and order shown on forms. The functions under settings I was interested in using in other logging programs that seem to be in just ACLog are:
?
Edit Fields Displayed, Position, and Tab Order
Other Field Titles, and Fill Behavior…

I bring these two customization functions up as useful inside the other logging programs such as VHF because I feel it would be good to have the option to display the frequency of the contact on the form as the contact is being made. Currently, the VHF contest form has the frequency field in the contact details, but that can only be filled in post-contact, and not easy at scale to determine whichever QSOs have a entry value of the frequency or not.?

Would you consider adding the settings functions (above) to future editions of VHF etc logging programs in the future so if a user wishes to fill in a field like Other, Frequency, County, they have the option to do so at the time so they may reduce post contact ‘clean up’/reconcilliation?
?
I greatly appreciate the value of the ACLog and all the other logging program in the N3FJP Suite of logging programs and I will continue to use them in my contest activities long into the future.

Hi Tom,

Using "Cntrl-Shift-F" will add the frequency column to any contesting program.

To take that a step further – IF the VHF logger could record the TRUE MODE in the database it would be wonderful!? The contest only cares about noting PH for Phone.? But when I’m up on a mountaintop running the contest as a QRP portable, I’ll use SSB, CW or FM.

Later when importing the contest log into AC-Log I need to edit the mode either SSB or FM.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for your e-mail and sending along your suggestions.? Before we built out over 120 individually customized contest programs from the original template, had we included a customization feature in the template, that would have been something to consider.? Now, the task of retrofitting over 120 programs with customization features isn't realistic.? I'm sorry that we didn't have the answer that you were hoping for.

Enjoy!

I suspected as much.? But this is absolutely ZERO HELP when you are cranking out contest style contacts? like two on SSB, one on FM, another on SSB and two more on FM in close time with each other.

They all show up a PH.? After the contest – EDIT – good luck remembering it all.? Of course, if you only made 12 contacts on 2m-simplex there you go.

?

Thanks anyway.

Sorry if I'm late to the thread. If you are running connected mode to the radio does it not list mode and freq as part of the contact record??
