Ideas / Recommendations for CW logging for field day. 5
I'm pre-planning for field day and I had someone reach out to me with some questions on CW logging. He is going to join us this year and do CW only. He does have some hearing loss, but otherwise very capable of doing CW, however he is not very keyboard proficient. Last year, he would write it down and we had someone sitting beside him typing it in as he finished the QSO. That meant he could only operate while someone was sitting with him as he felt he wasn't quick enough. He also felt he wasn't literate enough with the software to not make a mistake, but I think he did fine, he just felt he was too slow when doing it. He wants to know if there is a way to decode the CW and push it into logger for him. He uses an AEA Morse Machine, but I think the difficult part is going to be the reception and callsign population of the sending stations. I've tried doing auto-cw stuff myself when logging and found it quite lacking and often prone to more errors than he would ever make. I would like to try to find something that would potentially help him out, though. Send me your suggestions or questions and I can try them out ahead of time and see what works the best. Thanks! Ever Seen This? 4
Scott, This just recently started¡..I¡¯m sure it¡¯s user error or something with my computer but just wondering anyone else has seen this and what they found causing it. I hit TX in WSJT-X and N3FJP shows the corresponding call sign, frequency, and mode but the other data for QSO is blank and then this dialog box pops up. As soon as I click ¡°ok¡± all the data populates for the log and I keep moving. This happens about 80%of the time regardless of frequency. Doesn¡¯t happen on FLDIGI, JS8Call, etc. It¡¯s an annoying thing and I don¡¯t know if it¡¯s my API settings, RFI, witchcraft, or some other thing. Again, not a software issue just something else. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks and really appreciate software! Thanks, Paul

Force "Carry OTHER data forward" ? 3
The OTHER fields in my installation are for things I like to carry forward from record to record, changing only occasionally. I use Fill Behavior "Previous Record" for those fields and that works very well when I enter QSO info directly in ACLog. When I use other software that logs via API, i.e. HunterLog, those fields don't get carried forward. That's perfectly understandable since that software has no awareness of those fields. and can't be expected to duplicate them. Is there a setting or workaround, other than Bulk Edit that can perform that action. Be aware that "No" is an acceptable answer. ACLog is fabulous regardless. Default files location 3
I use Dropbox to manage file sharing between multiple PCs. This includes my log files. This keeps my logs in one place, and backed up on the cloud. I use this for POTA and normal operations at the home QTH. I often switch between my own log and our club log for various events. By default (and I can't see where this is set in the registry), the location for the logs is set here: C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Affirmatech\N3FJP Software\ACLog My request is for a registry entry to save the last location of the log file and by default when you click "OPEN" it would redirect there to start. I have a workaround set up for this, but would rather just point the logs in the software to the right location. My workaround is a shortcut to the Dropbox folder in the "Documents" folder that I can click to redirect when opening the other log. If there's already a setting somewhere I haven't found, please let me know.

RI: F-Key Labeling 2
I dug through the docs pretty extensively but can't find anything like this.. Using RI: keys for yaesu rig but the on-screen ctrl-w f-key window looks pretty ghastly. Could there be a way to label them like with a symbol like # sign meaning use the rest of this as a label and NOT display the junk before it? Access to port denied 7
Lately when running N3FJP the program keeps up with my Yaesu FTdx1200 but then I get the msg Access To Port Denied. I'll try Rig Control and get that msg again. Then I'll reboot N3FJP and/or my PC and N3FJP now works again. I went into Device Manager and made sure it duplicated the correct port settings, thinking that might be the problem. But this morning I again ran up against Access To Port Denied after a while. What's the answer? Appreciate help. Thanks. Jeff KB6CA

wsjtx and ac log not communicating 4
All was working well yesterday but when I turned on wsjtx and ac log tonight the enclosed message came up. Made one contact and the qso info did not go to ac log. Using vspe and both wsjtx and ac log are using the same port. Been doing that for months with no problems. Any ideas?

Multiple Operator Instances Within ACLog 9
Hi - been using ACLog for a year and love it. Full rig interface - works great. My wife recently passed her Technician, and has a separate TQSL Station Location - see pic. We use the same Shack, but would like to maintain separate instances of ACLog. Is this possible? Couldn't easily determine a solution. Thanks!

Can the rig interface be suspended and reactivated while switching batteries? 6
I often use QRP rigs and power them from batteries. Because of this, I may switch batteries several times over a weekend, or at least turn off the rig when I¡¯m not going to use it for a while to avoid draining the battery needlessly. Of course, as soon as I shut it off, Windows sends an audible thunk because the com port disconnected and AC-Log will complain that it lost connection with the rig. Then when I¡¯m ready to go again, I have to turn the rig on and go into the rig settings to re-enable polling for the connection to be established again. Is there a key sequence, sort of like the <ctrl> <shift> <r> that¡¯ll tell ACLog to retry the currently configured rig after the port has been reactivated, in effect automating the Settings, Rig control, Test, Done steps? Thanks! Kevin, KE3V

AC Log Comment Field 11
Good Morning! I entered a comment in the Comments field when I logged an FT-8 QSO. Now that comment is replicated for each QSO I log! According to the on-line documentation, that can be stopped by unchecking Settings -> Carry Comments Data Forward I've done this and it doesn't help. Suggestions? 73 Mark K3MSB

Wishlist auto fill 6 #fields
I have a few callsigns on my wishlist on N3FJP software and I was able to click on the tab when it popped up and it would automatically fill in the callsign, date, frequency, and everything else it would do as if I clicked on a callsign when it was on the DX spots portion of the software. I now can't do that, I am hoping it's not because I don't have a rig interface. But could someone help me understand why it won't autofill when a callsign pops up on my wishlist?
