FX-4CR Rig Control
4
Scott (or anyone who has V.3 of the FX4-CR). This is the newest model of the FX4-CR which has USB-C. The manual says to emulate the Kenwood TS-590s with baud rate 115200, 8/1/0 (I tried 2 Stop Bits as well) and RTS. When I test, it keys up however it does not read the frequency. If I test the QSY, it will switch bands. So, I guess I'm almost there. Can anyone give me any ideas what to change? Thanks, Scott KN3A

Connection to the log changes received call colors
4
After I linked WSJT-X (2.7.0) to the N3FJP logging app, the call signs in the Band Activity change color (see attached image). The usual setting is black text on a green background, as shown. I have set up the N3FJP software (licensed) and connected it and WSJT-X through UDP according to the instructions from N3FJP ("WSJT-X Integration with N3FJP Software"). Now, the incoming messages have white call-sign text on an olive-green background. As soon as I close N3FJP program, the text comes back to all-black text on the green background as per normal in WSJT-X. Is there a setting to overcome this problem? This is not what I want. Color settings in WSJT-X did not affect the call-sign color changed by N3FLP log program. Suggestions? Thanks! -- Jon Titus, KZ1G Herriman, UT

Previous Contacts
6
When I work DX stations, I hear people saying when and how many times they have made contacts with each other. I see AC Log will preview and flag if you have previously worked a callsign or country but is there a way to ascertain how many times and when you have worked the station. The same applies states. Can a state be previewed before tabbing into the record? If this is not a feature, can it be put on the roadmap?

Logger & Maps
5
I am working on a special Event station. I don't care what "Logger" I use, be it a "Contest" logger or an every day type of logger. I know I can do this, AFTER the event is over take the log and up load it to several sites where it will make on a map all the locations where we made contacts with. I have done that several times. BUT what I want to do is have this happen live to a map that anyone on the internet can watch as we are making the contacts. we contact someone in Bel Air, MD. and an indicator appears there instantly, or a as short as possible delay. Any logger here can do this? Joe WB9SBD

N3FJP comparison audit with LoTW
3
#aclog
I did not see a post that answered my questions. I apologize if I missed one that did. I do the MSWE special event each June at the Submarine Library & Museum (USS NAUTILUS). We use the callsign N1S and the N3FJP ACL logging program. Our QSO totals usually range around 1000-1200 each year. After the event I upload the log to LoTW to support anyone who wants CT for an award. I have one particular year where not all records were uploaded. I don't want to just re-upload because of the extra work it could cause the LoTW staff. To this end I have been trying to compare the LoTW upload with the initial N3FJP file. What has made it hard is that my N3FJP file does not seem to sort correctly by time and date. For example, the ACL log breaks down like this: Records 1-97 go from 0036 to 2359 on June 5th Records 98-278 go from 0000 to 1207 on June 6th Records 279-576 go from 0011 to 1428 on June 5th Records 577-810 go from 0121 to 2319 on June 5th Records 811-1073 go from 0015 to 1956 on June 6th If I sort on the record number the listing is numerically by "REC #". If I sort on "Date/Time" I get the break down I describe above. I.E. Records on 5th, 6th, 5th, 5th, 6th. This "Date/Time" sort does properly chronologically list the date but not the time. I know LoTW has a upload, excluding duplicates which I can resort to in the end if necessary. Also, since the cyber attack on ARRL they are limiting LoTW uploads to 500 QSOs, which is not an issue. If I reloaded everything I can break them up into 500 records or less. Regardless of available work arounds, the real question that I would like to solve is why my ACL isn't sorting correctly. Could it be that my date or time format is wrong in some records? I don't see anything obvious. Could another ACL field be overriding? Would just like to know so I can fix and avoid in the future. Please excuse the long Post. I appreciate your indulgence. Any and all comment, advice, and guidance is appreciated. 73 Harrison N1FAM

Amateur Contact Log

Is there an adjustment to decrease the page size of AClog. I can't see all the data on the screen, it cuts off the right side where the Comments are listed. I only get parts of the comments. My monitor size is 25" No problem with vertical, just horizontal. Thanks, Norm - K7NWF

"No process is associated with this object."

just began getting this popup. It seems to be when ACLog as received a message that VarAC has logged a QSO. The error window popup's subject is "Error Executing Shell Functi...". And that Title oddity is something I always notice with popup windows generated by ACLog. Might there be a way that one can size those popups to include all the characters in a line?

Filter Contacts by Radio
8
I’m adding a new transceiver to my shack and I want to track contacts based on the transceiver used to make each contact. I’ll probably be switching back and forth between radios. I successfully repurposed one of the “Other” fields to be my new “Radio” field. I was also able to adjust its position and tab order in the contact entry form. Question: How can I get my “Radio” field to show up as one of the columns in the contact listing (the “Recent Contacts” table)? If there’s a limit on the number of fields (columns) that can be shown, I can remove the “S” and “R” fields since the color coding gives me that info. But how can I select the fields which appear in this list’s columns? Thanks much! Larry, WA2VKG

AC Log Software

When I view my recent contacts log on Amateur Contact log 7.0.11 I am missing County information for all my contacts. All the other colums have the correct information needed. Is there something I need to toggle to have the counties populate? This is a new log for me with N3FJP so I am still learning. 73 Norm - K7NWF

Easy access to a qrz.com record
4
Is there a way to open a callsign record in qrz.com after entering a qso but before the qso is logged. For example, I have started a QSO and I want to view their qrz.com record to learn more about him/her while in the qso. Something like pressing a button in the current qso record or right clicking the call sign. The current way disrupts the logging work flow, especially during a CW qso while you are trying to copy code and entering a call in qrz.com at the same time. If this is not a feature, can it be put on the feature roadmap?

Second Request -- Cabrillo Not Working
6
Hello, This is my second request. Still looking for help. I need to submit my contest to the ARRL via Cabrillo file. I create the Cabrillo and save it to my ARRL DX Contest folder. Did this many times in the past, so it is pretty simple. I tried it several times a few days ago, and then posted my help message. I tried it again today but it didn't work. I can export an ADIF file okay. I tried to bring up and empty ARRL DX Contest Log, and the import the ADIF. But I can't bring up an empty contest log. It's populated with my QSOs. 73 Fred W3ICM

Amateur Contact Log

I just started using Amateur Contact Log. Is there a way to insert special event callsigns so I’ll be alerted when they’re on the air. I’m able to do this with JT Alert and was wondering if this software has that option. Thanks in advance for your help!

Contest Loggers
2
There is a flaw in using all of the Contest Logger when the response to a call is "599 State". So on the ARRL CW Contest, I sent "599 TX" as the response. The problem is when the Logger created the Cabrillo file it would not allow me to enter "TX". I had to enter "NTX". As result when I attempted to upload my file to the ARRL, it failed because it said "NTX" and not "TX". Using "NTX" is a Section not a State. I had to manually go into the Cabillo file and edit the "NTX" to "TX". Then the ARRL website accepted my file. JoAnn/AB8YZ

REF# Question
2
I just recently set up AC Log and have a few questions on how REF# works and if I have something wrong. As part of setting up I did an import of ADIF file from another logging program (almost 16k contacts) not all the REF#s are in sequence (most are). The most recent contact was given REF# 1, the oldest 15,659. I just added several new contacts and they were assigned 15,669-15679. Also each time I open the AC log program the Recent Contacts are not in order by Date/Time also not in order by REF# (there is some variability in the order). What is the importance of the REF# and is there a way to set them is the same order as the Date and Time? It would also seem like the oldest should be 1 and the newest the highest number. I could delete and reinstall the entire log file and upload a new ADIF as I am currently running multiple logging programs. I guess perhaps there could have been some corruption error in the initial import that's causing the REF# not to flow in order. Thanks for any thoughts
