If you weren't in the room when something was said - you don't really know what happened.? At least when things are written we have some kind of record. Marvin Yes, he did... it's unbelievable he did. He also repeatedly said "as the president said"... so maybe he was just following orders or trying (let's say) to reserve masks for what later were called risk workers (like health and transportation). But otherwise, most specialists agreed from the start on wearing masks and washing hands as the main actions to stop the spreading (for masks it was clear that unless you had a N95 or better, it would not avoid catching the virus, but you would not be spreading it if you had it). If I'm not mistaken, at the time there was no information that lots of people was infected but showed no symptoms. That, and the need to stop panic (no need to change your life style), drove many publications indicate that unless you were sick, you should not use masks... Whether they are necessary or not is a matter of opinion, not science. And the idea that wearing two masks will reduce the amount of virus scattered by 90% is crazy - to anyone who understands partition functions.? We don't even have a good handle on the amount of virus necessary to convey the disease - why do we think we can tell what the necessary filtration is. Hysteria runs rampant over rationality. Well... we're mixing issues, but let's go on. I did not say opinions were lies, I said the text presented lies mixed with truths etc. to make the viewer consider the conclusions as truths. Anyway, opinions that are unfounded, even as they might express what someone thinks or believes, does not make them an objective truth, and can sometimes be considered a lie if presented as a truth... As to what Trump and his opposition did or not do, it does not change de fact that all main experts argued with cience and expertise that, for example, mouth coverage was an important measure to take since the first days the epidemic expanded beyond China. But on politics, I did not focus on the US, nor on the UK (where the link is refers to), but in a general way to most of the world.
