Masks are certainly not necessary. ?Never were and never will be. ?But once a ruler decides to make something uncomfortable mandatory, he’s got to claim it’s necessary.
It’s the logic of the dictator.

If I'm not mistaken, at the time there was no information that lots of people was infected but showed no symptoms. That, and the need to stop panic (no need to change your life style), drove many publications indicate that unless you were sick, you should not use masks... Looking back, a bit of panic would have been desirable...

I did not say opinions were lies, I said the text presented lies mixed with truths etc. to make the viewer consider the conclusions as truths.
Anyway, opinions that are unfounded, even as they might express what someone thinks or believes, does not make them an objective truth, and can sometimes be considered a lie if presented as a truth...
As to what Trump and his opposition did or not do, it does not change de fact that all main experts argued with cience and expertise that, for example, mouth coverage was an important measure to take since the first days the epidemic expanded beyond China. But on politics, I did not focus on the US, nor on the UK (where the link is refers to), but in a general way to most of the world. In this, I believe most polititians should be accused of some sort of mass murder and economic disruption of their countries...

Some things are lies, like when it says that polititians did not have experts telling them what should be done. They did have, and were told, and did not do what they were told by the experts they had. That as a general rule, because it happened in almost every country, not only UK.
Saying that we are fortunate because it could be worse might be a matter of opinion (to wich I do not agree either).
It is a very long and winding reading that, as said before, hides lies among truth to make the reader believe polititians did well.

Marvin I did not considered it excellent at all. I found it a mix of half lies and half truths, with conculsions presented as truth, with a clear goal of getting the responability off the polititians who made clearly and worned wrong choices.
