Re: Fixed my HP 5345A today!!
I am 72. I pulled a Hammarlund SP-600 of the shelf to test and could not get a sound out of it. I went so far as to hook a signal generator to it and started tracing the signal through the unit.

As I reach 70 its becoming clearer that I will age out before I get to all the HP and Tek gear on the ¡°to repair¡± shelves in my shop. ?I do appreciate the ¡°smells¡± ?of the boat anchor tube

Fixed my HP 5345A today!!
Every few months I like to fire up the seldom used HP gear on the workbench.? I really love listening to the Pratt and Whitney jet engines used to cool my HP 8345A.? Being elderly and getting deafer

Hi in your case from 238-247 if you haven¡¯t done it already ..201 onwards backing up correction constants One thing to check is the level of your LO feedthrough amplitude ..the signal at 0hz on the

Hi, Are we talking about the user manual 08590-90301, because there is not much cal data in it other than the normal stuff. I also have the installation, verification & Operation manual. Or are there

Just a thought - started with my 8591E losing low end cal signal response with remaining good readings on the high end.? It was the result of a dying YIG.? Started out initially slowly but gradually

Re: low amplitude readings below 10MHz on a 8591E
Hi there, The key to this is that the problem is below 10mhz. The first calibration point is at 12mhz. From what I remember the FM coil in the YTO does the below 10mhz steps. The main coil in the YTO

Re: HP 312A wave analyser
Right. The problem is that there are no photocells in today¡¯s equipment, so even googling for ¡°photocell¡± gives you results for ¡°photoresistor¡± (= LDR, Light-dependent resistor) [1]. Common

Re: HP 312A wave analyser
Brad, that rather sounds like an LDR than a photocell to me. You can find them very cheap on eB in different types and sizes. Just give it a try and let us know... Chris

E4407B Step Attenuator
I am just about done resurrecting a E4407B that I just acquired. The last issue is the RF step attenuator. Stepping from 0dB to 25dB in 5 dB steps works fine. All steps above 25dB fail. I suspect that
